❌ Some moisture remained.
❌ No countdown timer.
Overall, the Sterilizer & Dryer mini has an impressive list of positives, especially for parents looking for a relatively compact yet effective bottle sterilization solution.
Some thoughts on the minor drawbacks:
After the 60-minute cycle (10 minutes sterilization, 50 minutes drying), the glass bottles still had a bit of moisture inside. Not entirely surprising or a big deal, but worth mentioning. Plastic bottles were more thoroughly dried.
Second, some of the Baby Brezza sterilizers have a countdown timer (as you can see in our Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro review), which is a nice touch. This model doesn't have one. But then again, it's also about a third of the price!
Unboxing the Sterilizer Dryer Mini
The sterilizer arrives in a relatively small box.
The team at Baby Brezza figured out a clever way to configure the parts to make the system more compact and portable.
Basically, flipping the base upside-down and putting it deep inside of the lid. This makes it compact enough to put into a carry-on suitcase or throw in an overnight duffle.
The system comes with a few parts:
- The large base, with the control panel on the front.
- The translucent grey lid.
- The lower bottle tray.
- The accessory tree.
To assemble it, simply place the bottle tray into the base, then pop on the accessory tree:
Now we're ready to load in the bottles and get started!
As expected, the system is made in China.
Loading Up the Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer Mini
We were excited to test out all of the features including sterilization, drying, and one-step combined sterilization and drying.
When you load the Baby Brezza, it has two racks:
Lower rack: This is for baby bottles, which get positioned upside-down over the two bottle posts. There are also spots for venting systems found on Dr. Brown's bottles, which is a nice touch.
Upper rack: This is for nipples, which get positioned right-side-up over four spray jets. There is also room for pacifiers and other small bottle accessories (caps, lids).
Here's an example of it fully loaded (apologies for the poor-quality photo, it's taken from our video!):
It was a tight fit with the Dr. Brown's glass bottle and the Tommee Tippee, but we managed to get everything to fit!
Which Bottles & Nipples Fit?
We tried all of the best baby bottles, including:
- Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature
- Dr. Brown's Options (glass)
- Comotomo
- Chicco Duo
- Nanobebe
- Philips AVENT
- Munchkin LATCH
We tried bottles in both small and larger versions, and everything fit perfectly.
The only bottle we had a hard time fitting was the PopYum bottle, mostly because the nipple had a very tall lower ring attached to it, making it too large for the top rack.
Overall, we thought everything fit tightly but easily into the machine, and the bottles and nipples remained stable and upright during the sterilization and dryer cycles.
Sterilize & Dry Modes
The Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer Mini has the following modes:
- Sterilize Only: Using the second button from the left, this option will sterilize the bottles only. Takes about 10 minutes.
- Dry Only: Using the third button from the left, this option will dry the bottles only. Takes about 50 minutes.
- Sterilize & Dry: Using the far right button, this option will do everything for you! Takes about 60 minutes.
The front screen and buttons are intuitive to use and understand. Here they are:
To turn the system on or off, push the button on the far left.
Cycle Durations
When running the full cycles, things can take quite some time.
- Sterilize Only: This cycle runs until the water reservoir is empty. That takes about 10 minutes, but sometimes it can be a little faster or slower.
- Dry Only: This cycle runs on a timer, for 50 minutes exactly.
- Sterilize & Dry: This combined cycle runs for about 60 minutes, plus or minus 1-2 minutes.
The most common option for most families will be the combined function. While there isn't any countdown timer (which is unfortunate), the cycles are pretty consistent in their timing, and we like how it's exactly an hour for the combined cycle, making it easy to time.
Testing the Modes
We were eager to test out the features, so we loaded it up with bottles, nipples, and some bottle accessories.
Here is a video showcasing how to use the Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer Mini, and our full testing:
Here is a basic instruction list:
- Fill the base with water, directly on top of the round stainless steel heater plate. Fill to the MAX line.
- Place the bottle tray and accessory tree on the base.
- Place your bottles and accessories onto the bottle posts and accessory tree. Do not put dirty bottles or accessories into the sterilizer. They should already be clean. This is not a washer, it is a sterilizer!
- Bottles will be upside-down.
- Plug the system into an outlet. Position the system away from anything that might get damaged by steam. The steam comes out of the top holes (which get very hot!). When the system switches from sterilizing to drying, steam also temporarily comes out of the sides.
- Press the power button to turn the system on.
- Choose either the sterilize only, dry only, or combined sterilize & dry mode.
- Come back 10 minutes later (sterilize only), 50 minutes later (dry only), or 60 minutes later (sterilize & dry).
- Handle the system and the bottles and accessories with care, they might be hot!
Some things to point out:
First, there are steam holes on the top. Never place anything on top of the sterilizer, and do not put it too close to the underside of the upper cabinets or anything else that might melt or get ruined by hot steam.
Of course, this area is also very hot to the touch and can cause burns when the system is running, so be careful. Do not put the system near the edge of the counter, or plug the system into a lower outlet that a child might be able to reach.
We measured the temperature inside the sterilizer using two temperature probes, watching the temperature rise throughout the cycle.
We were able to detect a temperature as high as 210 degrees F (or 99 degrees C), as seen below:
We've tested a lot of baby bottle sterilizers and many of them do not get close to this temperature, so we were very happy to see this!
When the system transitions from sterilizing to drying mode, it will let out a big puff of steam. Make sure nobody is close to it, or they may risk a steam burn.
After about an hour, we returned to find the system finished.
We are very happy to report that the bottles and nipples were mostly dry. There was only some minor condensation left inside glass bottles, whereas plastic bottles were very dry.
Outside of that, we were very impressed!
Clean-up is easy. Simply use a soft damp cloth to clean the base and control panel. If necessary, the lid, bottle tray, and accessory tree can be cleaned in hot soapy water (not dishwasher safe).
There is also an air filter on the bottom of the base, which can be rinsed under water for cleaning. It is not a HEPA filter.
Conclusions
Overall, we think the Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer Mini delivers exceptional performance in a compact design, making it ideal for parents with limited counter space.
With a powerful sterilization cycle reaching 210°F, effective drying, and intuitive one-button operation, this mini sterilizer handled baby bottles and accessories with ease and efficiency.
While minor moisture may remain in glass bottles, the device provides a thorough clean and mostly dry result, particularly for plastic bottles. Though it lacks a countdown timer, its consistent cycle times make it easy to use.
Overall, the Baby Brezza Sterilizer Dryer Mini is a reliable, space-saving solution for keeping baby feeding essentials hygienic and ready for use! We love it, and think you will too!
