When it comes to making infant feeding easier, Grownsy has established itself as a trusted brand in the baby product industry.

From bottle warmers to food processors, their latest product — the all-in-one DeepClean baby bottle washer, sterilizer, and dryer — promises unmatched convenience for busy parents!

But let's see how it performs!

Our Grownsy DeepClean Bottle Washer Review

To review this new baby bottle washer, sterilizer, and dryer, we put it through our full testing process:

  • Unboxing & assembly.
  • Loading bottles & accessories..
  • Washing, sterilization, & drying.
  • Ease of use & maintenance.

In this hands-on review, we test whether the Grownsy DeepClean deserves a spot among the best baby bottle washers and sterilizers!

Of course, we can't help but also compare it to our review of the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro, and Grownsy's Bottle Washer Pro, which both have very similar capabilities.

Overall Rating

Overall, we give the DeepClean Bottle Washer a 4.3 out of 5, which puts it on par with most of its competition. Personally, we think the Grownsy EaseClean Baby Bottle Washer Pro is a slightly better option.

Take-home Message

Most people don't want to read this entire article to see what we found. So here is the summary of what we loved, and what we didn't.

✔️  Spacious glass chamber.
✔️  No BPA or plastics.
✔️  Powerful washing cycle.
✔️  Reaches 210° F (99° C).
✔️  Effective sterilization.
✔️  Convenient drain hose.
✔️  Simple touch controls.
✔️  Multiple settings.
✔️  Quiet operation.
✔️  Fits 4 baby bottles.
✔️  Upper and lower racks.
✔️  Fits venting systems.
✔️  Fits nipples & pacifiers.
✔️  Easy-fill water reservoir.
✔️  Safe auto-off lid.
✔️  Kills 99.9% of germs.
✔️  Grippy rubber feet.
✔️  No leaks or mess.
✔️  Filtered air.
❌  Lengthy drying cycle.
❌  Residual water in chamber.
❌  Finicky upper rack.
❌  Short drain hose.

Overall, the DeepClean baby bottle washer offers a variety of impressive features.

The glass chamber enhances safety by minimizing exposure to heated plastics, and the touch panel makes it effortless and intuitive to operate. However, the drying cycle is slower than expected, and the upper rack design could use some refinement.

Unboxing the DeepClean Bottle Washer

The washer arrives securely packaged, with noticeable heft due to its durable glass washing chamber.

The box previews some of the basic features including auto bottle cleaning, fast sterilizing and drying, 72-hour storage mode, and the two-layer basket design.

Inside the box, you'll find:

  • The main unit with its glass chamber and touch-sensitive upper control panel.
  • A detachable upper rack with adjustable sections.
  • A drain hose equipped with suction cups to secure to counter and sink.
  • 50 detergent tablets, to support 50 wash cycles.
  • A power cord (three-prong).
  • Instruction manual and quick start guide.

Full assembly instructions are available in our hands-on video review, but below is the gist.

The setup is simple:

  • Plug in the power cord.
  • Position the drain hose in the sink using the suction cups to secure it to your counter and sink.
  • Attach and adjust the four upper rack pieces.
  • Remove the water reservoir cap (upper left of the unit) and fill it with about 3.5L of water (to the fill line).
  • Load bottles and accessories into the lower (bottles, nipples) and upper (caps, pacifiers, accessories) chamber.
  • Add one detergent tablet, letting it fall to the bottom of the washing chamber.

Loading the Grownsy DeepClean Bottle Washer

We were excited to test out all of the features including washing, steam sterilization, drying, and the one-step cycle that does it all!

When you load the Grownsy, it has two racks:

Lower rack: This is the large main rack. Holds four bottles upside-down on individual washer nozzles. The spacious design accommodates most standard and wide-neck bottles. Taller bottles, such as the large Dr. Brown's Options glass bottles, are a bit more challenging to fit because they will interfere with the upper rack. In addition to bottles, there are spots for you to place bottle nipples in between each bottle. Wider bottle nipples, such as the Comotomo nipple, won't easily fit in these positions and will need to be placed on the upper rack.

Upper rack: This is designed to hold 4 bottle caps, pacifiers, and any other small accessories you need washed (like bottle caps or small venting accessories). The adjustable sections allow customization, but the design is slightly cumbersome compared to one-piece trays found in other models.

Here's a close-up image of the lower rack:

There's a lot of space in there, but not quite as much space as in the Grownsy or Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro. Notice how the upper rack is folded together, with all four pieces on top of one another.

Here's a close-up image of the upper rack:

Notice how the four pieces are now spread out to form a full rack.

We were excited to try loading four different baby bottles and their accessories:

  • A Comotomo baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
  • A Tommee Tippee baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
  • A Chicco Duo baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
  • A Dr. Brown's Options glass baby bottle, nipple, lid, and venting mechanisms.

Will these best baby bottles fit into the system?

It was a very tight fit with the wide Comotomo bottle nipple, so we ended up putting the nipples on the upper rack, which also worked well.

Which Bottles & Nipples Fit?

We tried all of the best baby bottles, including:

  • Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature
  • Dr. Brown's Options (glass)
  • Comotomo
  • Chicco Duo
  • Nanobebe
  • Philips AVENT
  • Munchkin LATCH

We tried bottles in both small and larger versions, and everything fit pretty well. Taller bottles, however, bump up against the upper rack and you'll need to be strategic about how you position the upper rack when dealing with tall bottles. Examples include the tall PopYum bottles and the tall (9 ounce) Dr. Brown's Options bottles.

Overall, we thought everything fit reasonably into the machine, and importantly the bottles and nipples remained stable and upright during the washing, sterilization, and drying cycles.

Wash, Sterilize, and Dry Modes

The Grownsy DeepClean offers multiple cycle options:

  • Auto Mode: Automatically cleans, sterilizes, dries, and maintains sterile conditions in a 72-hour storage mode.
  • Wash Only: Uses hot water and a detergent tablet for thorough cleaning.
  • Steam Sterilization Only: Utilizes high-temperature steam to kill bacteria that may remain after washing.
  • Drying Only: Uses a lower fan to push air through the chamber and dry the bottles and accessories.
  • Storage Mode: This ensures bottles remain germ-free until they need to be used (within 72 hours).

The upper control panel screen and buttons are intuitive to use and understand. Here's a close-up:

Looking good, we love the design!

Cycle Durations

When running the full cycles, things can take quite some time.

  • Wash only is 30 minutes.
  • Sterilization only is 28 minutes.
  • Drying only is 45 minutes.
  • Storage mode is 72 hours.
  • Full auto mode is 81 minutes.

The most common option for most families will likely be the full auto mode, which takes about 81 minutes in total and is a totally hands-free experience (set it and forget it!).

Of course, if you need the baby bottles before they are fully dried, you can pull them out after the sterilization phase. Be careful, however, as the bottles and accessories will be very hot to the touch! Especially glass baby bottles.

Testing the Modes

We were eager to test out the features, so we loaded it up with bottles, nipples, and accessories, and ran it through the full cycles.

Here is a video showcasing how to use the Grownsy DeepClean bottle washer, and our full testing:

Some notes from our performance testing:

  • The washing process uses powerful water jets, mimicking a dishwasher.
  • The sterilization mode maintained high temperatures of 210° F (99° C) in our testing.
  • The drying cycle effectively eliminates most water and moisture in the chamber, though some water did remain pooled on the top of bottles in the lower chamber.

There is a steam vent on top of the lid. Never place anything on top of the unit. This area is also very hot to the touch when the system is running, and can cause burns.

Do not put the system near the edge of the counter, or plug the system into a lower outlet that a child might be able to reach.

Bonus: The system does not have a dirty water tank, unlike the Baby Brezza. Instead, just like the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro, it conveniently discharges the used water through a drain hose. This makes clean-up so much easier because you don't need to empty a dirty water tank after each cycle. Points to the Grownsy for this design, however we do wish the drain hose were longer.

The system is surprisingly quiet relative to the Baby Brezza bottle washer pro, which is like having a noisy dishwasher on your counter.

We love the count-down timers to help you understand how much time remains in each cycle, and the control panel tells you which phase you're in (drying, sterilizing, storage).

Here are the bottles after the drying cycle:

If you look closely, you can see the pooled water on each bottle.

The bottles were very clean, however, and we were impressed with how much we were able to fit into the machine:

Clean-up is easy. Simply use a soft damp cloth to clean the base and control panel.

For maintenance, there is a HEPA air filter on the bottom of the base, which can be rinsed under water for cleaning. It is not a HEPA filter.

The only cons we could find are:

  • The drying cycle is lengthy for mediocre effectiveness. It's not necessarily a longer cycle than other systems, but we expected it to be more effective. While the interiors of bottles were fully dried, small pools of water remained on the bottom of each (upside-down) bottle. Leaving bottles in storage mode for longer periods may resolve this issue.
  • The washer is large, which is great for fitting several bottles. However, it also takes up a lot of counter space. If you have a small kitchen or otherwise restricted counter space, you should try to find a smaller option. For example, you can check out our review of the review of the Baby Brezza Mini bottle sterilizer, though that doesn't have a wash function.
  • The drain hose is short, which limits where you can place the system on your counter. Basically, you'll need to put it within about 12" of your sink.
  • The upper rack is more cumbersome and finicky than the upper rack on other systems because it has four pieces, and you need to carefully arrange them each time you use the system. We would prefer a one-piece upper rack.

Outside of those minor concerns, we were very impressed!

Comparing to the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro and the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro

The Baby Brezza and Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro systems are flagship baby bottle washers, and all three of them are about the same price. Naturally, we needed to compare this system to those.

Here are the advantages of this DeepClean bottle washer relative to those other models:

  • Glass cleaning reservoir to minimize potential exposure to chemicals that may leach from plastic when heated. This is a big concern for many parents, and we appreciate how Grownsy has used a strong glass main chamber. Of course, all the other parts are still plastic.
  • 40 high-pressure spray jets, which is more than the Bottle Washer Pro models have (26). Theoretically, this will give you a more thorough cleaning of baby bottles and parts.
  • Clear main cleaning chamber so there are visible washing modes and you can watch the cleaning progress, whereas the other models only have a clear lid.

Other than that, we actually think the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro is still the best choice, given the cons we've described above. Specifically, we think the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro has a more effective drying cycle, a longer drain hose, and an easier-to-use upper rack.

We also think the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro is better than the Baby Brezza Bottle Washer Pro because it drains dirty water automatically into your sink, has quieter operation, and is more cost-effective.

Conclusions

The Grownsy DeepClean Bottle Washer has strong cleaning power, effective sterilization, and a user-friendly design. The glass cleaning chamber is a notable advantage for health-conscious parents. However, the drying phase could be improved, and the upper rack could be easier to manage.

For parents seeking a bottle washer with minimal plastic exposure, the DeepClean is an excellent choice. However, if drying effectiveness is your top concern, the Grownsy Bottle Washer Pro remains a better option.
