Overall, the KleanPal Pro has tons of impressive features and we loved testing it. From the cavernous lower rack to the easy-to-use upper rack, it's the perfect size for bottles and accessories, breast pump parts, pacifiers, and more.
The control screen is intuitive to use and the washing and drying modes are very effective.
Similarly to other bottle washers, including the ones offered by Grownsy and Baby Brezza, the only con is a lengthy drying cycle (about an hour). However, it's also surprisingly effective at drying.
Overall, coming in at a substantial discount relative to the Baby Brezza, we think this is the better purchase for most parents.
Unboxing the Bottle Washer
The KleanPal Pro is shipped in a surprisingly large box, previewing its large capacity.
Unboxing it, the washer comes with all necessary parts:
- The main unit and control panel.
- The upper rack.
- A translucent lid.
- Water reservoir tank & lid.
- Drain hose.
- Power cord.
- 60 detergent tablets (two packs of 30).
To start assembling the system, you'll need to:
- Remove the piece of tape holding on the main lid, and the water reservoir lid.
- Remove the owner's manual, drain hose, and power cord from the water reservoir.
In our video, we provide a detailed walk-through on how to set up the washer, but here's the gist:
- Attach the angled side of the drain hose to the rear drain port.
- Place the other side of the drain hose into your sink or in a bucket.
- Secure the suction cups to ensure the drain hose doesn't move during operation.
- Plug the power cord into the unit, and into your wall outlet.
Now we're ready to fill it with water, load in the bottles, and get started washing!
As expected, the system is made in China.
Loading the Momcozy KleanPal Pro Bottle Washer
We were excited to test out all of the features!
When you load the KleanPal Pro, it has two racks:
Lower rack: This is the large main rack inside the unit. It can hold 4 baby bottles and 4 nipples. Place the bottles upside-down on the four claw-shaped bottle holders. For the bottle nipples, place them onto the four corner posts. There were no space issues for wide or tall bottles, there is plenty of space.
Upper rack: The removable top rack is designed to hold 4 bottle caps, pacifiers, and any other small accessories you need washed (like bottle caps or small venting accessories).
Here's a close-up image of the lower rack:
There's a ton of space in there!
Here's a close-up of the upper rack:
We were excited to try loading four different baby bottles and their accessories:
- A Comotomo baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
- A Tommee Tippee baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
- A Chicco Duo baby bottle, nipple, and lid.
- A Dr. Brown's Options glass baby bottle, nipple, lid, and venting mechanisms.
Will these best baby bottles fit into the system?
It was a slightly tight fit with the wide Comotomo bottle nipple, but things were generally easy to fit into the lower rack.
Looking good!
Now for the upper rack, which you simply place on top of the main unit:
Note that while we positioned the green Dr. Brown's venting base like this, we suggest flipping it upside-down so it doesn't accumulate water. Rookie move!
Now to pop the lid on, which simply rests on top:
Which Bottles & Nipples Fit?
We tried all of the best baby bottles, including:
- Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature
- Dr. Brown's Options (glass)
- Comotomo
- Chicco Duo
- Nanobebe
- Philips AVENT
- Munchkin LATCH
Everything fit easily, including both small and large capacity versions.
Importantly, the bottles and nipples remained stable and upright during the washing, sterilization, and drying cycles.
Wash, Sterilize, and Dry Modes
The Momcozy KleanPal Pro Bottle Washer has the following primary modes:
- Rapid Wash: This is a 19-minute cycle. It does a hot water wash and two rinses, and uses 1 detergent tablet. In our testing, the hot water reached a maximum of 54 degrees (C). After washing, it starts a 60-minute drying cycle. Of course, you could stop the machine and pull the bottles out before they are dry.
- Normal Wash: This is a 29-minute cycle. It does an extended hot water wash with multiple rinses, and uses 1 detergent tablet. In our testing, the hot water reached a maximum of 66 degrees (C). After washing, it starts a 60-minute drying cycle; this drying cycle will automatically extend itself if moisture is still detected (up to 30 minutes additional drying time).
- Steam Sterilization: This includes a 10-minute sterilization. No detergent tablets are needed. In our testing, the water reached a maximum of 97 degrees (C). There is a 60-minute drying time.
- Storage: At the end of any of the above cycles, you can choose to have the system enter a 72-hour fresh air storage stage. This means you can keep the bottles in the system for up to 72 hours with circulating fresh (HEPA-filtered) air.
Some important things to realize about the modes:
- Storage mode automatically starts by default. Before beginning a cycle, you can press the storage button on the control panel to disable storage (you'll see the light turn off).
- Steam sterilization can be added to the Rapid Wash or Normal Wash modes. Simply press the steam button to enable it (you'll see the light turn on).
- There is a pause button on the front, just in case you need to pause the system for any reason. You can also raise the lid and it will automatically pause and restart when the lid is placed back on top. Be careful though, the system vents steam through the top lid so there is a risk of scalds/burns.
The front control panel screen and buttons are intuitive to use and understand. Here's a close-up:
In this case, we have selected Normal wash mode, followed by steam sterilization and storage. The timer indicates there are 29 minutes remaining in the current phase (normal wash).
Looking good, we love the design!
Cycle Durations
When running the full cycles, things can take quite some time.
- Rapid Wash only (no drying): 19 minutes.
- Normal Wash only (no drying): 29 minutes.
- Sterilize Only (no drying): 10 minutes.
- Drying after any cycle: 60 minutes (or up to 90-minutes in normal mode).
- Storage: 72 hours.
The most common option for most families will likely be the Rapid Wash combined with Sterilization and Drying. In total, that takes about 90 minutes (an hour and a half).
Of course, if you need the baby bottles before they are fully dried, you can pull them out after the sterilization phase. Be careful, however, as the bottles and accessories will be very hot to the touch! Especially glass baby bottles.
Testing Video
We were eager to test out the features, so we loaded it up with bottles, nipples, and accessories, and ran it through the full cycles.
Here is a video showcasing how to use the Momcozy KleanPal Pro bottle washer, and our full testing:
Basic instructions to start a cycle:
- Fill the rear water reservoir to the MIN line. This takes about 2.5 liters of distilled water.
- Make sure the drain hose is attached to the back of the system and the other end is in your sink (or in a bucket), secured with the suction cups.
- To turn the system on, press the Power button.
- If you want to run a Rapid Wash, press the Rapid button.
- If you want to run a Normal Wash, press the Normal button.
- If you want to run Sterilization only, press the Sterilization button and turn off the Rapid and Normal options.
- If you want to add Sterilization to either a Fast or Standard Wash, simply press the Steam button.
- If you want to turn off the Storage function, simply press the Storage button until the light is off.
- Press the "play" (start) button and you will see a countdown timer begin.
Some things to point out:
The steam vent is on top of the lid. Never place anything on top of the unit. This area is also very hot to the touch when the system is running, and can cause burns.
Do not put the system near the edge of the counter, or plug the system into a lower outlet that a child might be able to reach.
Bonus: Unlike the Baby Brezza, this system does not have a dirty water tank. Instead, it drains dirty water directly to your kitchen sink with a drain hose (about 41" long). We love this! It makes clean-up much easier because you don't need to empty a dirty water tank after each cycle.
We measured the temperature inside the bottle washer during the sterilization process. We weren't able to get it all the way down into the unit, but we measured about 206 degrees (F) or 97 degrees (C), which is close to its advertised sterilization temperature of 100 degrees (C).
The system is surprisingly quiet relative to the Baby Brezza bottle washer pro, which is like having a noisy dishwasher on your counter.
We love the countdown timer, and the control panel tells you which phase you're in (drying, sterilizing, storage).
At the end of the drying cycle, we opened the lid and were surprised to find everything was not only spotless but also very dry!
If you look really closely, you'll see some moisture on the Tommee Tippee bottle, and on the top of the Comotomo bottle (where water will pool and collect). Very minor!
Impressive, and much more effective than the Baby Brezza bottle washer pro that we tested.
Clean-up is easy. Simply use a soft damp cloth to clean the base and control panel.
For maintenance, there is a HEPA air filter on the bottom of the base, which can be rinsed under water for cleaning. Here's what that looks like:
The only cons we could find are:
- The drying cycle is lengthy. Five minutes longer than the drying cycle on the Grownsy EaseClean, but not necessarily longer than other models on the market. The good news is that the drying cycle is very effective, so we think it's worth the time.
- The washer is large, which is great for fitting several bottles. However, it also takes up a lot of counter space. If you have a small kitchen or otherwise restricted counter space, you should try to find a smaller option. For example, you can check out our review of the review of the Baby Brezza Mini bottle sterilizer, though that doesn't have a wash function.
Outside of those very minor concerns, we were very impressed!
Momcozy versus Grownsy Bottle Washers
The Momcozy KleanPal Pro and the Grownsy EaseClean are clearly manufactured by the same company. They are nearly identical. There are only a few differences we could find:
- Drying cycles: The Momcozy uses a 60-minute drying cycle, whereas the Grownsy uses a 55-minute drying cycle.
- Cycle names: The Momcozy calls their cycles "Quick" and "Normal" whereas the Grownsy calls them "Fast" and "Standard."
- Swirling jets: The Momcozy uses 12 swirling spray jets whereas the Grownsy uses 14 swirling spray jets.
- Price: The Momcozy tends to be about $50 more expensive than the Grownsy.
Overall, we think the two bottle washers are extremely similar in build and performance. If one is less expensive than the other, you might want to consider that one.
Conclusions
We think the Momcozy KleanPal Pro Baby Bottle Washer delivered on its promise to simplify bottle washing for busy parents. The powerful washing cycles, hot steam sterilization, thorough drying, and lengthy storage feature all worked very reliably.
The drying cycle took a bit longer than we preferred, but the results were surprisingly good - spotless and dry bottles ready for the next feeding. The spacious design, intuitive operation, and thoughtful features like HEPA-filtered air and automatic draining make it a top pick for most families.
At a competitive price point and with performance that rivals or surpasses other leading brands (including the Baby Brezza), we think the Momcozy Baby Bottle Washer Pro is a must-have for parents looking for a reliable, all-in-one solution. However, if you can find the nearly-identical Grownsy EaseClean for a lower price, we would recommend that model.
