How We Tested
We unboxed and assembled the chair, installed and removed it repeatedly on our dining table, checked the stability and rubberized grips, measured the seat and tray, tested the harness and cleaning features, and folded it into its travel bag. We also tried it with a happy 10-month-old who loved joining us at the adult table.

Unboxing & Assembly
The FastLock Go arrived in a compact box, and the chair itself was neatly folded inside a protective plastic bag.
Our sample came in an attractive sage green color.
Here it is inside the box, still in the bag:
Once unbagged, we found the fabric seat and frame, two metal attachment arms, removable tray, and instruction manual.
There's relatively little to assemble.
Here are all the parts, laid out on our dining room table:
Assembly begins by sliding each metal arm into the corresponding side of the chair frame.
Chicco labels the matching pieces with letters, a small detail that makes this step almost foolproof.
Here are the two arms attached to the chair frame, and then folded/collapsed inward for the next step:
The only slightly tricky step is stretching a fabric loop on each side over its metal hook.
Once those loops are in place, the chair is ready to attach to a table. Our video demonstrates this step if you need a closer look, but in the meantime here's a close-up view of the loop in place:
Installing the FastLock Go
This is where the chair really shines.
After positioning the upper arms on a compatible tabletop, rotate the lower clamps upward until they click into place.
The arrows marked “align to clamp” make their correct position easy to identify.
Here's a close-up of the alignment arrows:
Then squeeze the ratcheting levers to raise the rubberized lower feet firmly against the underside of the tabletop.
Unlike screw-on clamps, these tighten quickly and easily. We could install the chair on our table in less than a minute, and removal was even faster.
The adjustable clamp geometry also accommodates table aprons up to 5.25 inches deep, provided the clamps can reach beyond the apron and grip a suitable underside surface.
That's a useful feature at restaurants, grandparents' houses, and rentals where you can't control the table design.
We were especially impressed by the stability. Once installed, we pushed and pulled firmly on the empty chair and couldn't get it to budge.
The rubberized upper and lower grips also left no visible marks on our table during testing. Of course, our experience on one table doesn't establish compatibility with every surface; always follow the installation checks in the manual.
Here it is, looking great installed on our table:
Note that while we opted for the Moss (sage green) color, it's also available in Black and Lupine (which is like a soft rose).
Comfort, Harness & Feeding
Our 10-month-old tester loved sitting right at the adult table with us!
The chair fits between regular dining chairs without occupying floor space, which is convenient both at home and in restaurants.
We especially liked the soft-touch arm padding and the plush, approximately one-inch-thick seat cushion.
Underneath the cushion is a firm support board, so the seat feels soft without being flimsy.
The adjustable three-point harness was another highlight.
The waist straps are easy to snug up, and pressing the center buckle button releases both sides at once. It was one of the easiest harness buckles we've used.
Cleaning & Dishwasher-Safe Tray
The removable plastic tray clicks securely onto the arms and pops off by lifting the release tabs on each side.
We loved how easy it was to use, especially with a squirmy baby waiting for dinner.
The tray is dishwasher-safe, a huge convenience after messy meals.
We found it could stand upright in the lower rack, which lets water drain better than when it lies flat. Be careful about rack placement and high-heat drying around plastic components, and follow Chicco's cleaning directions.
The fabric seat also wiped clean nicely in our testing. A pro-tip is to turn the seat fabric inside out while it is still on the frame to reach crumbs in the corners.
For deeper cleaning, the fabric is removable and can be washed according to the manual, although fully disassembling the cover takes longer than a quick wipe-down.
Folding, Storage & Travel
One of our favorite surprises was the integrated carry bag.
It's tucked into a pocket underneath the seat, and one end stays attached to the chair. Pull it out, fold the chair, and slip the bag over everything. No separate bag to lose!
Here it is, hiding under the seat:
You need to remove the chair from the table and fold the two arms to prepare for putting it into the bag.
The bag pulls over the folded chair easily.
Folded with the tray, our chair measured about 18 × 14 × 4 inches.
The bag has two carry handles, and at roughly 5.5 pounds, the whole package is easy to bring to a restaurant, Airbnb, or family gathering.
Consumer Sentiment
Owner feedback for the FastLock Go is very positive overall, with recurring praise for its sturdy feel, quick installation, compact size, and removable tray. Those impressions matched our hands-on testing.
The only critical feedback we could find tends to concern table compatibility and the steps required to remove the fabric for a thorough wash. We found relatively little long-term discussion specifically about the FastLock Go online, with most forum posts concerning other Chicco FastLock models.
What Could Be Improved
Not much! But if we are being picky:
First, there's no footrest or much postural adjustability. The seat is comfortable, but it doesn't offer the ergonomic positioning of a well-adjusted full-size high chair. We see it primarily as an excellent space-saving and travel option, so this isn't a deal-breaker.
Second, not every table is compatible. This shouldn't be surprising. Chicco specifies tabletops 0.75–1.5 inches thick, and explicitly prohibits use on glass-top tables, loose tabletops, table leaves, card tables, single-pedestal tables, or over tablecloths or placemats. These are safety-related limitations, so definitely check your furniture before purchasing.
Here's a list of those exclusions, printed prominently onto the chair's warning label:
Third, removing the fabric completely requires some disassembly. Fortunately, routine wipe-downs and turning the seat fabric inside out covered most of our cleaning needs.
Most importantly, this chair is only for children who can sit upright independently, and then up to 37 pounds. Always use the snugly adjusted harness, check table stability and both clamps before seating your child, keep your child in view, and avoid nearby chairs, table legs, or other structures they could push against. The removable tray is not a restraint. Always read and use the user manual and follow manufacturer instructions!
Our Conclusions
We're impressed with the Chicco FastLock Go. It's easy to assemble, genuinely fast to attach and remove, remarkably stable on our dining room table, and comfortable for our little tester. The removable dishwasher-safe tray and clever attached carry bag really complete the package.
It's especially well suited to families who travel, dine out frequently, visit relatives, or simply don't want a large high chair taking up kitchen floor space. Urban apartment dwellers rejoice! If you need adjustable ergonomic support for every meal or have an incompatible dining table, a traditional high chair would be a better fit.
Overall, we give the Chicco FastLock Go Hook-On Chair an excellent 4.8 out of 5.0!
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the weight limit for the Chicco FastLock Go?
The maximum child weight is 37 pounds (16.8 kg). Children must also be able to sit upright independently before using the chair.
Does the Chicco FastLock Go fit every table?
No. It requires a suitable, stable tabletop 0.75–1.5 inches thick. Its clamps can accommodate an apron up to 5.25 inches deep when they can reach the tabletop underside. It must not be used with glass tops, table leaves, card tables, loose tops, single-pedestal tables, or tablecloths and placemats under the clamps.
How fast is installation?
Once we had assembled the chair and learned the clamps, we could attach it to our dining table in less than a minute. Removing it was even quicker.
Is the tray dishwasher-safe?
Yes. The removable feeding tray is dishwasher-safe. Follow the manufacturer's washing instructions and avoid exposing the plastic to unnecessary high heat.
Can the chair fabric be cleaned?
Yes. We found it easy to wipe and spot-clean, and we could turn the seat fabric inside out to reach trapped crumbs. The cover can also be removed for deeper cleaning, following the instructions in the manual.
Does the FastLock Go rotate like the FastLock 360?
No. The FastLock Go is the non-rotating model, with a removable tray and integrated travel bag.
Does it have a footrest?
No. That is one of its main ergonomic compromises compared with a full-size adjustable high chair.
