That is a lot of versatility for one product, but GROWNSY combines the different modes into a surprisingly cohesive and attractive design.

To find out whether it deserves a spot on our list of the best bassinets, we tested its assembly, build quality, stability, mattress, breathability, height adjustment, bedside mode, rocking motion, wheels, storage, floor mode, and overall ease of use.

That is an exceptionally strong collection of features!

The GROWNSY's greatest strength is its versatility.

It works as a conventional bassinet, securely attached bedside sleeper, manually rocking bassinet, mobile room-to-room sleep space, and removable floor bassinet.

We were also impressed by its quality and appearance. The muted fabrics, extensive mesh, faux beechwood trim, and clean frame give it a modern look without making it feel overly trendy or conspicuous.

The large sleeping area, smooth wheels, spacious storage basket, and adjustable height make it especially practical for everyday use.

Our primary complaint involved assembly. No tools were required, but there were many parts, and the user manual was not always clear about their orientation or attachment.

Once assembled, however, the bassinet felt sturdy, stable, and thoughtfully designed.

Overall, we give the GROWNSY 5-in-1 Rocking Bassinet a 4.7 out of 5, making it one of the most versatile and attractive bedside bassinets we have tested at this price.

Unboxing & Assembly

To be completely transparent, GROWNSY provided us with a Rocking Bassinet sample for hands-on testing.

The bassinet arrives in a large cardboard box, which is not surprising given its substantial assembled size.

Everything was carefully packed and padded, and our sample arrived without damage, scratches, or deformed parts.

Opening the box was initially a little overwhelming because there were many separate components.

The primary components include:

• Bassinet sleeping area with attached folding floor legs.
• Dual-sided mattress and cover.
• Upper and lower metal support bars.
• Four lower legs with wheels.
• Large divided storage basket.
• Bedside attachment straps.
• User manual.

Assembly took us about 15 minutes and required no tools.

Everything snaps together or attaches with hook-and-loop closures, which sounds simple, but the large number of pieces and occasionally ambiguous manual made the process more challenging than expected.

Some drawings did not clearly show part orientation, and a few written instructions could have been more specific. That is saying a lot because we assemble baby gear for a living!

Fortunately, the pieces fit securely once we identified their correct positions, and there was no difficult hardware, forcing, or misalignment.

Once assembled, the bassinet looked excellent.

The muted fabric, clean lines, extensive mesh, and faux beechwood trim create a modern appearance that should blend into most bedrooms and nurseries.

The opposite side has a small GROWNSY logo near the lower corner, but it is subtle and does not detract from the overall appearance.

Our first impressions were very positive: it looked stylish, felt stable, and appeared well constructed.

The modes feel genuinely useful rather than included merely to support a 5-in-1 marketing claim.

Most families will probably use the bedside, standalone, rocking, and wheeled configurations regularly, while the removable floor mode adds portability for travel and outdoor use.

Specifications & Design

The GROWNSY uses a wide rectangular sleeping area supported by a lightweight metal frame and four wheeled legs.

Its overall dimensions are approximately 40 inches long, 22.5 inches deep, and 32-37 inches tall, depending on the selected height.

The bassinet is relatively large, but its size contributes to a roomy sleeping area, substantial storage basket, and stable footprint.

The decorative wood-grain elements are not solid wood, but they create a more refined look while keeping the frame relatively lightweight.

The finish looked convincing from normal viewing distances and coordinated nicely with the muted fabric.

Breathability & Mattress

The GROWNSY provides excellent side-to-side airflow and visibility.

Large mesh panels surround most of the sleeping area, allowing air to circulate and making it easy to check on your baby from bed or across the room.

The mesh felt durable and reasonably soft, with openings small enough to prevent little fingers from passing easily through it.

The mattress is approximately one inch thick and feels appropriately supportive rather than plush or deeply cushioned.

Its removable cover has two different surfaces.

One side uses highly breathable mesh that should work well during warmer months.

The reverse side is smoother and softer, providing a cozier surface during colder weather while remaining relatively breathable.

We liked having the choice between the two surfaces, but parents should use only the supplied mattress and a tightly fitted sheet specifically sized for it.

Note that we couldn't find replacement sheets on the Grownsy website, so that's something to consider.

Do not add a mattress topper, pillow, positioning cushion, blanket, or additional padding beneath or around the baby.

Height Adjustment

The GROWNSY offers six height positions, allowing it to accommodate a broad range of adult bed heights.

A release latch is located on each side of the bassinet.

Squeeze the latch upward, then raise or lower that side of the bassinet until it clicks into the desired position.

The indicators make it easy to confirm that both ends are set at the same level.

Each position changes the height by about one inch.

The upper rail ranges from approximately 32 to 37 inches from the floor. With the bedside panel lowered, the rail height ranges from about 23.5 to 28.5 inches.

Adjustments felt secure once engaged, though we recommend confirming that both sides show matching numbers and are fully locked before every use.

GROWNSY also allows the two ends to be set at different heights, creating an incline of up to approximately seven degrees.

Although that angle falls below the federal 10-degree limit applicable to inclined infant sleepers, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a firm, flat, noninclined surface for every infant sleep.

For that reason, we did not test or evaluate the incline as a sleep feature and recommend keeping both sides at the same height.

Bedside Sleeper Mode

The bedside sleeper mode was one of our favorite features.

During ordinary standalone use, the side panel remains fully raised and secured by zippers.

To lower it, unzip both sides, pull upward on each end of the upper bar while operating the small release latch, and allow the bar and panel to fold down against the outside of the bassinet.

The opening provides much easier access for nighttime soothing, feeding, and placing the baby down without reaching over a tall rail.

We tested it beside a bed measuring approximately 38 inches from the floor to the top of the adult mattress.

Height level five aligned nicely with our mattress and brought the baby close without placing the baby on the adult sleep surface.

When using bedside mode, the bassinet must be attached securely to the adult bed using the included straps.

The straps extend around or beneath the adult mattress to prevent the bassinet from rolling away and creating a dangerous gap.

Always follow the manual carefully, tighten both straps, lock the wheels and rocking motion, and confirm that there is no gap between the bassinet and adult mattress.

Raise and secure the side panel whenever the bassinet is moved away from the bed.

Sleeping Area & Comfort

The sleeping area is approximately 33 inches long and 19.5 inches wide, making it larger than many compact oval bassinets.

Our baby tester had plenty of room around the head, shoulders, legs, and arms without the sleeping area feeling excessively open.

The rectangular shape uses space efficiently and should accommodate longer babies better than some smaller round or oval bassinets.

The mattress felt firm and supportive while the mesh sides prevented the interior from feeling enclosed.

As with every bassinet, discontinue use according to the limits and developmental guidance in the manual, especially when the baby begins pushing up, rolling into the sides, or otherwise exceeding the intended stage of use.

Rocking Mode

The rocking mechanism provides a gentle manual side-to-side or horizontal gliding motion.

This is not a motorized or automatic bassinet. A parent initiates the movement by gently nudging the frame.

The motion was smooth, quiet, and subtle, making it useful for soothing without creating an exaggerated swinging sensation.

A lockout switch is positioned on each side of the frame.

Engaging both switches prevents the bassinet from rocking and creates a more stationary sleep space.

We appreciated having a simple manual system rather than another motor, cord, app, or electronic component that could malfunction or require power.

Always engage both rocking locks before using bedside mode or moving the bassinet.

Wheels & Mobility

Four wheels make it easy to move the bassinet between bedrooms and shared living spaces.

The wheels rolled smoothly on our hard floors and made the relatively large bassinet much easier to reposition than a model with a broad fixed base.

Each wheel includes a lock, allowing the bassinet to remain securely positioned after movement.

The bassinet is about 22.5 inches deep, so it should pass through most standard interior doorways without difficulty. Its approximately 40-inch length, however, can make turning in narrow halls or small bedrooms more cumbersome.

Never roll the bassinet rapidly or over thresholds with a baby inside, and make sure all four wheels are locked during sleep.

Storage Basket

A large storage basket spans most of the space beneath the sleeping area.

A center divider creates two spacious compartments for lightweight supplies such as:

• Diapers.
• Wipes.
• Burp cloths.
• Pacifiers.
• Swaddles.
• Sleep sacks.
• Spare fitted sheets.
• Lightweight clothing.

The basket was easy to access from either side and helped keep nighttime essentials within reach.

Avoid placing heavy objects inside, and do not allow stored items to extend upward toward the sleeping area or interfere with the rocking mechanism.

Portable Floor Mode

One of the GROWNSY's most distinctive features is its removable floor-bassinet mode.

The primary sleeping area separates from the wheeled lower frame, and its attached legs unfold to support it directly on the floor.

This configuration is useful for travel, visits to relatives, camping, the beach, or supervised daytime use in another part of the home.

It is not as compact as a dedicated folding travel bassinet and does not collapse into a small package, but it is much easier to transport without the large lower frame and wheels.

Four small feet keep the fabric bottom elevated above the floor or ground.

The feet help prevent the bassinet from sitting directly on a dirty surface, though parents should still choose a clean, level, dry, and stable location.

Do not place floor mode on a bed, sofa, table, countertop, elevated deck, or other raised surface.

Cleaning & Maintenance

The GROWNSY uses removable fabric and a removable mattress cover, making routine cleaning relatively straightforward.

For everyday maintenance, we recommend:

• Removing the mattress cover for washing when needed.
• Following the manual's washing and drying instructions.
• Wiping the mattress core clean, do not soak.
• Wiping the frame and faux wood surfaces with a soft damp cloth.
• Cleaning the mesh gently without abrasive brushes.
• Checking the wheel locks for hair and debris.
• Inspecting the rocking and height mechanisms periodically.
• Confirming that all fabric fasteners remain securely attached.
• Allowing every component to dry completely before reassembly.

Do not use bleach, harsh cleaners, abrasive scrubbers, or unapproved replacement mattresses.

Because babies frequently spit up or experience diaper leaks, purchasing a correctly sized spare fitted sheet would be helpful if GROWNSY makes one available.

Safety & Stability

The GROWNSY felt sturdy and highly stable during our testing.

Its broad lower frame, four lockable wheels, secure height mechanisms, and rigid sleeping area resisted meaningful shifting or wobbling.

The bassinet also includes several important safety-related features:

• Firm and supportive mattress.
• Extensive breathable mesh.
• Wide and stable footprint.
• Individual wheel locks.
• Rocking lockout switches.
• Matching numbered height positions.
• Bedside attachment straps.
• Secure drop-side latches and zippers.

Parents should still follow basic infant safe-sleep practices:

• Place the baby on their back for every sleep.
• Use a firm, flat, and non-inclined sleep surface.
• Keep both ends at the same height.
• Use only the supplied mattress and a tightly fitted sheet.
• Keep pillows, blankets, toys, bumpers, positioners, and loose objects out of the bassinet.
• Lock all four wheels before placing the baby inside.
• Lock the rocking mechanism during bedside use.
• Secure the bassinet to the adult bed with both supplied straps.
• Confirm that no gap exists between the bedside sleeper and the adult mattress.
• Raise and secure the side whenever the bassinet is not attached to the adult bed.
• Place floor mode only on a clean, flat, stable surface.
• Follow all weight, age, and developmental limits in the manual.
• Never leave a baby unattended in an improperly configured product.

GROWNSY advertises an incline of up to seven degrees, which is below the 10-degree maximum associated with federal infant-sleep-product rules.

That regulatory limit should not be interpreted as a recommendation to incline a baby's sleep surface. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a firm, flat, noninclined sleep surface.

We therefore kept the GROWNSY level throughout our sleep testing and recommend that parents do the same.

Comparison to Competitors

The GROWNSY competes with popular bedside bassinets from Newton, Halo, Arm's Reach, Chicco, Baby Delight, and BabyBjörn.

Compared with the Newton, the GROWNSY adds wheels, storage, rocking, and floor mode. Newton counters with its highly washable mattress system, simpler construction, and longer owner history.

The Halo BassiNest can swivel over the edge of an adult bed, which may be particularly helpful after a C-section or for parents with limited mobility. The GROWNSY is easier to roll between rooms and provides substantially more storage.

The Arm's Reach Clear-Vue offers many of the same practical features, including wheels, bedside attachment, and storage. GROWNSY looks more modern and adds manual rocking and a removable floor mode, while Arm's Reach has a much longer track record.

The Chicco Close to You feels extremely robust and eventually converts into a changing table, but it is heavier, more expensive, and less portable.

The Baby Delight Beside Me Dreamer is generally simpler and more compact, while the GROWNSY provides a larger feature set and more premium appearance.

The BabyBjörn Cradle is lighter and more compact, with a naturally responsive bounce, but it lacks a drop-down bedside panel, wheels, storage basket, and floor conversion.

Overall, the GROWNSY provides one of the strongest feature combinations in its price range.

The GROWNSY Rocking Bassinet is relatively new, so long-term owner feedback remains limited.

Early retailer sentiment is strongly positive, with owners frequently praising:

The primary unanswered question is long-term durability. There is not yet enough owner history to know how the height latches, rocking locks, wheels, mesh, zippers, and bedside straps will perform after months of nightly use.

Our sample felt sturdy and well constructed, and we will update this review if any durability concerns emerge.

Things we Loved

We loved the overall quality. Once assembled, the frame felt sturdy, stable, and well constructed, with secure connections and no concerning wobble.

We loved the styling. The muted colors, clean lines, extensive mesh, and faux beechwood accents give it a sophisticated modern appearance.

We loved the versatility. It works as a standalone bassinet, bedside sleeper, manually rocking bassinet, mobile sleep space, and removable floor bassinet.

We loved the sleeping area. At approximately 33 by 19.5 inches, it gives babies more room than many compact oval bassinets.

We loved the mattress. It felt firm and supportive, and the reversible cover provides both a highly breathable mesh side and a softer smooth side.

We loved the mesh panels. They provide excellent airflow, visibility, and a more open feeling around the baby.

We loved the height adjustment. Six settings and about five inches of range help the bassinet align with many adult beds.

We loved the bedside panel. The opening provides much easier nighttime access than repeatedly reaching over a tall fixed wall.

We loved the included bed straps. They allow the bedside sleeper to be secured to the adult mattress rather than simply rolled alongside it.

We loved the rocking motion. The manual glide was subtle, quiet, and smooth without adding motors, cords, apps, or electronics.

We loved the rocking locks. The bassinet can be converted quickly from responsive rocking to a stationary configuration.

We loved the wheels. They rolled smoothly and made it easy to move the relatively large bassinet between rooms.

We loved the wheel locks. Each wheel can be secured independently to keep the bassinet firmly positioned.

We loved the storage. The divided lower basket provides a generous amount of room for diapers, wipes, burp cloths, and other lightweight supplies.

We loved the floor mode. Removing the lower frame creates a more portable bassinet for travel, camping, the beach, or another room.

We loved the raised floor feet. They prevent the fabric bottom from sitting directly on a dirty floor or ground surface.

Most importantly, we loved the overall value. The GROWNSY combines the appearance and feature set of several more expensive bedside bassinets at a competitive price.

Things we Disliked

Assembly was more challenging than expected. No tools were needed, but the large number of components made the initial unboxing feel daunting.

The user manual could be clearer. Several illustrations and written steps were ambiguous about part orientation and attachment, extending assembly to about 15 minutes.

The bassinet is relatively large. Its roomy sleeping area and broad frame are beneficial, but the approximately 40 by 22.5-inch footprint may feel cumbersome in a small bedroom or apartment.

We do not recommend using the incline setting for sleep. Although its maximum angle is below the federal 10-degree threshold for inclined infant sleepers, the AAP recommends a firm, flat, noninclined sleep surface. We kept both ends level during testing.

Fortunately, the first three concerns are relatively minor, and avoiding the incline does not interfere with the bassinet's many other useful features.

Conclusions

The GROWNSY 5-in-1 Rocking Bassinet impressed us with its style, quality, stability, breathability, and excellent versatility.

Its muted fabric, faux beechwood accents, extensive mesh, and clean frame give it a modern appearance that competes well with several more expensive bassinets.

We especially appreciated the large sleeping area, supportive dual-sided mattress, six height settings, drop-down bedside panel, attachment straps, gentle manual rocking, smooth wheels, large storage basket, and removable floor mode.

The bassinet also felt sturdy and stable once assembled, with secure height adjustments, effective rocking locks, and a broad footprint.

Our main complaint was assembly. There are many parts, and the manual's ambiguous illustrations made the process more difficult than it needed to be, though everything ultimately fit together without tools.

Its large size may also be challenging in small apartments or crowded bedrooms.

Finally, although GROWNSY provides an incline setting of up to approximately seven degrees, we recommend keeping the mattress completely level in accordance with AAP safe-sleep guidance.

Overall, we highly recommend the GROWNSY 5-in-1 Rocking Bassinet!

It combines the bedside convenience of models from Halo and Arm's Reach, the roomy rectangular sleeping area of the Newton, the soothing motion of a cradle, and the mobility and storage parents need for everyday use.

That rare combination of appearance, quality, flexibility, and value earns it an excellent 4.7 out of 5 stars.
