Our Mamazing LullaPod Review
The LullaPod impressed us immediately. Its thick, substantial construction feels premium, the cushioning is soft without being unsupportive, and the two independently motorized armrests make feeding positions much easier to customize. The chair also reclines deeply, rocks gently, and swivels to face nearly any direction.
Here are our findings, right up front:
✔️ Excellent, sturdy build quality.
✔️ Plush yet supportive cushions.
✔️ Wipe-clean vegan leather.
✔️ Motorized armrest heights.
✔️ Armrests swivel inward.
✔️ Smooth, quiet powered recline.
✔️ Gentle rocking/gliding motion.
✔️ About 270° of swivel.
✔️ Two large cup holders.
✔️ Four storage pockets.
✔️ USB phone chargers.
✔️ Adjustable phone holder.
✔️ Easy, ~10-minute assembly.
❌ Vegan leather is cold on bare skin.
❌ Extremely heavy boxes and chair.
❌ Armrest swivel doesn't lock into place.
For parents who expect to spend lots of time feeding, rocking, and cuddling, this is a remarkably comfortable and useful nursery chair. Our favorite feature is the adjustable feeding armrests; our biggest wish is for a more positive swivel-locking mechanism.
It's definitely deserving of a spot on our list of the best nursery chairs and gliders of the year!
How We Tested
Mamazing sent us the regular LullaPod, not the Pro or Max. We unpacked and assembled it ourselves, then tested the recline, independently adjustable armrests, manual armrest swivel, rocking and chair swivel, phone holder, charging ports, storage, and overall comfort. A mom also used the chair while holding and feeding (bottle and breast) a baby to evaluate feeding support.

Unboxing & Assembly
The LullaPod arrives in two very heavy boxes: ours weighed 91 and 66.5 pounds. We strongly recommend two capable adults for moving them.
The heavier carton contains the chair base and upper side wings; the other contains the two side/armrest assemblies and chair back.
Here's a photo of the two boxes:
Inside, everything was well packed and protected, as pictured below.
We were reassured by the amount of protective packaging surrounding the large components.
Below are all the pieces laid out: chair base, side panels and armrests, backrest, upper side wings, remote and power cord, and lumbar pillow.
The included manual breaks assembly into only seven steps.
Here are the 7 assembly steps:
1. Attach the two side arms. Each arm slides down onto two wedge-shaped metal mounting brackets on the chair base. The photos below show the bracket detail, one installed arm, and both arms attached.
Here's what it looks like once you attach both arms:
2. Install the chair back. Slide its metal brackets into the matching brackets on the lower base, as pictured here:
Here's what it looks like once the chair back is installed:
3. Add the upper side wings. These slide onto either side of the backrest using another set of metal brackets.
Both the connection and the finished installation are shown below.
Here's what it looks like once those side wings are slide down into place:
4. Zip on the rear cushion. The upper back cushion attaches with a zipper, leaving a tidy, finished backrest.
Here's a close-up of the zipper:
Here's what it looks like once the rear cushion is fully zipped on:
5. Connect the wiring and close the rear panel. Plug in the four cables (one power cable and three function cables), then pull down and secure the fabric panel using its Velcro closure.
Here's what the four wires look like once they're attached:
Then pull down firmly on the rear fabric panel and velcro it on, like shown here:
6. Add the lumbar pillow. That is it! Our chair was fully assembled in about 10 minutes.
Here is the finished LullaPod, followed by a view with its phone holder in use:
Comfort & Build Quality
The LullaPod feels impressively substantial. Its thick panels, solid components, and generously padded surfaces give it a premium feel. The vegan leather is smooth, easy to wipe clean, and practical around spit-up and spills, though cooler to the touch than fabric.
The padding struck a great balance between plushness and support. In the next three photos, we press into the armrest, back cushion, and seat cushion to show how much they give without feeling flimsy:
Here's the back cushion:
Here's the bottom seat cushion:
Most importantly, our test mom looked and felt comfortable sitting with her baby!
As shown below, the adjustable armrest can sit under the parent’s forearm to help support a comfortable feeding position, for breast feeding or bottle feeding.
Adjustable HugAssist Armrests
These armrests are the star of the show. Each side raises or lowers independently with a motor, with smooth, continuous adjustment instead of a handful of fixed height settings.
In our measurements, they rose about 8 inches above their lowest position, as shown below with a measuring tape:
Each armrest also manually swivels inward, bringing support closer to your body and baby. This is especially useful for breastfeeding or bottle feeding, because it helps support the arm holding the baby rather than forcing you to hunch or prop your elbow on a stack of pillows.
The swivel mechanism is pictured here:
We loved the flexibility, but we do wish the armrests locked more securely in their swiveled-inward position.
They can swing outward more easily than we would like if bumped or pushed sideways. Parents should always support their baby securely while using the chair.
Powered Recline, Rocking & Swivel
The second powered feature is the reclining mechanism. The backrest moves smoothly backward while the leg rest rises, with continuous adjustment through a deep, comfortable range.
The two move together rather than independently, which is worth considering if you want only your feet raised.
Here is our test mom reclining nearly flat in the chair. It is wonderfully relaxing for an adult, but remember that recliners are not safe infant sleep spaces, and adults should not sleep in them while holding a baby.
Both powered functions are controlled by a flexible corded remote with three controls: right armrest height, left armrest height, and recline.
We found the motors smooth and quiet; the remote is pictured below.
The rocking/gliding motion felt smooth and gentle. We also found that the entire chair could swivel roughly 270° before reaching its stopping point. It does not rotate a full 360°, likely to protect internal wiring from twisting.
Phone Holder, Charging & Storage
The included accessories are unusually thoughtful. The remote has both USB-A and USB-C charging ports, handy for keeping your phone powered during lengthy feeds.
It's not capable of fast charging (it peaks at about 10W), but certainly is strong enough to charge your phone while you watch videos.
You can see both connections here:
Even better, the sturdy flexible phone holder positions a phone where you can see it, in either portrait or landscape orientation.
It supported our larger phone with no problems. Here is a close-up of the empty bracket:
And here's a close-up of a phone visiting the best baby gear review website on the internet - mommyhood101.com!
There are also four storage pockets, two on each side, for books, burp cloths, and other essentials, as seen below.
The two generously sized cup holders easily accommodated the sorts of baby bottles, tumblers, and coffee cups we use.
A small hook on the remote lets you hang it from a pocket or cup holder, keeping it accessible.
And although we tested it as a nursery chair, our teenage son also thought it was a great place to relax.
We can easily imagine keeping the LullaPod in use long after the baby years!

Consumer Sentiment
We also looked at independent owner feedback. Comments are generally enthusiastic about the comfort, powered recline, adjustable feeding support, and built-in accessories. For example, one parent reported loving the chair during late pregnancy and with a three-week-old, and another said they were still using it regularly with a ten-month-old.
The most relevant recurring criticism is familiar from our testing: armrests that can move outward too easily. One detailed owner review praised the chair overall but also wished the armrests stayed put more firmly. A few owners also described rocking or positioning concerns, while other comments praised the gentle motion. Reports involving the separate Max model should not be assumed to apply to the original LullaPod.
What Could Be Improved
The swivel armrests should lock more securely. We love their range of adjustment, but they swing outward a little too easily. A positive locking or higher-resistance mechanism would make them even better for feeding.
Vegan leather can feel cold. The upholstery is wonderfully easy to wipe clean, but bare arms or legs may find it chilly when first sitting down. A blanket helps, although we would love a warmer fabric option with equally easy cleaning.
It is extremely heavy. The two boxes weighed 91 and 66.5 pounds. That heft contributes to the substantial feel, but moving and assembling the chair is definitely a two-person job for safety, even though the actual bracket assembly is straightforward.
The leg rest and backrest cannot be adjusted separately. Reclining is smooth and comfortable, but there is no option to raise your legs without moving the backrest. The upgraded Max addresses this limitation.
Our Conclusions
The Mamazing LullaPod exceeded our expectations for quality, comfort, and convenience. We loved the thick supportive padding, solid construction, quiet powered movement, and deep recline. The independently height-adjustable armrests that swivel inward are genuinely useful for feeding, and the little extras (phone holder, charging ports, huge cup holders, and storage pockets) make a noticeable difference.
Our main improvements would be firmer armrest swivel locks, warmer-touch upholstery, and a lighter package to move around. None changed how much we enjoyed the chair during testing.
Overall, we give the Mamazing LullaPod an excellent 4.7 out of 5.0! If you have room for a large, heavy nursery recliner and expect long feeding and cuddle sessions, this one deserves a spot on your shortlist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the LullaPod have motorized adjustable armrests?
Yes. The original LullaPod has independently powered left and right armrest height adjustments. In our testing, each could rise by about 12 inches and could also swivel inward manually.
Does the LullaPod recline flat?
The chair reclines very deeply, but Mamazing advertises a maximum recline of 135°. The backrest and leg rest move together, not independently.
Does the LullaPod swivel 360 degrees?
No. Mamazing advertises a 270° swivel, though our test chair seemed to turn roughly 270°. It does not complete a full rotation.
How difficult is the LullaPod to assemble?
The assembly itself was simple and took us about 10 minutes, with slide-on metal brackets, four wire connections, and a zip-on cushion. Moving its two very heavy shipping boxes is the difficult part.
Does the LullaPod charge your phone?
Yes. The remote has one USB-A and one USB-C charging port, and a flexible phone holder accommodates landscape or portrait viewing.
Can you use the LullaPod after the baby years?
Absolutely. We found it comfortable for ordinary adult lounging, and even our teenage son enjoyed it.
Can you sleep in the LullaPod with your baby?
No. A recliner is not a safe infant sleep surface, and caregivers should not sleep in it while holding a baby. Move a sleeping baby to a separate, firm, flat approved sleep surface.
