Our Momcozy Wearable Thermometer Review
The Momcozy T31 is one of the most useful smart baby products we've tested. It's extremely small and comfortable, provides reliable continuous temperature monitoring, and connects to a great free app with temperature trends, customizable alerts, history, and symptom and medication logging.
Here are our findings, right up front:
✔️ Continuous monitoring.
✔️ Reliable readings.
✔️ Extremely compact.
✔️ Thin, smooth, comfortable.
✔️ Excellent Momcozy app.
✔️ Live streaming.
✔️ Trends and history.
✔️ Customizable alerts.
✔️ Symptom logging.
✔️ Medication logging.
✔️ Background monitor mode.
✔️ 180-hour battery life.
✔️ Replaceable battery.
✔️ Includes adhesive tape.
✔️ Works with medical tapes.
✔️ Worked well with Tegaderm.
✔️ Includes 15 adhesive rings.
❌ Adhesive is tricky to apply.
❌ Limited range through walls.
❌ Adhesive adds ongoing cost.
The most important thing to understand is that the T31 isn't really competing with an ordinary baby thermometer. Its advantage is continuous monitoring. Instead of waking a sleeping baby every hour to take another reading, you can watch temperature change continuously from your phone.
How We Tested
We tested the Momcozy T31 with a 5-month-old baby and also wore the sensor ourselves to evaluate comfort during normal movement.
We tested the included adhesive rings, and also tried it with 3M Micropore medical tape and 3M Tegaderm transparent film. We compared its readings with two separate infrared forehead thermometers, explored all major app functions, tested Bluetooth range through our home, and inspected the replaceable battery system and technical specifications.
Quick Review Video
Here's our quick video showing the unboxing, setup, adhesive application, app, monitoring, and accuracy testing:
Unboxing & First Impressions
The Momcozy arrives in a small retail box identifying it as the T31 Wearable Digital Thermometer.
Inside is a compact clamshell-style storage case.
Opening the case reveals the thermometer itself along with 15 included 3M medical-grade double-sided adhesive rings.
The sensor is remarkably small. Our measurements were approximately 1.19 inches in diameter and only 0.25 inches thick.
It's about the size of a silver dollar, with rounded edges and a pleasantly soft-touch surface. When we wore it ourselves, we basically stopped noticing it after about a minute, even while moving around.
The rear contains the central metal temperature-sensing area.
Our sample identifies the T31 as an axillary, or underarm, wearable digital thermometer with a CR2025 battery and IP22 ingress protection.
The package also includes a convenient quick-start card and a more detailed user manual.
The instructions recommend cleaning and drying the armpit before placement, waiting about three minutes for an accurate reading, using each supplied adhesive only once, and avoiding monitoring the exact same skin location for more than eight hours. Momcozy also recommends testing the adhesive on the baby's skin for 15 minutes before first use.
The reverse side includes QR codes for downloading the Momcozy app.

Attaching & Wearing the Thermometer
This is where we encountered our biggest usability complaint.
Each supplied adhesive is a thin double-sided ring positioned between a clear plastic backing and a blue plastic ring.
First, we peeled the blue ring and adhesive away from the clear backing.
Next, the blue ring is pressed onto the rear of the thermometer without covering the central metal sensor.
Then comes the tricky part: peeling away the blue plastic while leaving the adhesive stuck neatly to the thermometer.
We ruined our first three adhesive rings figuring this out. The adhesive strongly wants to remain attached to the blue plastic and can stretch, bunch, or fold over itself while peeling.
Our best technique was to use a fingernail to hold the leading edge of the adhesive firmly against the thermometer while slowly peeling the blue plastic away.
Once we figured that out, application became much more reliable. Still, we think Momcozy could substantially improve this part of the product with a slightly more rigid adhesive ring and easier-release backing.
We then placed the thermometer just below the armpit fold of our 5-month-old tester, choosing a relatively smooth area without several deep skin folds.
The size is excellent for an infant. Its low profile, soft edges, and extremely light weight made it surprisingly unobtrusive.
Alternative Adhesive Options
Fortunately, Momcozy does not require you to use its proprietary rings. The user manual specifically says the thermometer can be secured beneath the armpit using medical double-sided stickers or adhesive tape.
We tried ordinary 3M Micropore medical tape first, using two strips in a cross pattern.
That worked perfectly well.
Then we tried a 4" × 4" 3M Tegaderm transparent film dressing.
Tegaderm ended up being one of our favorite attachment methods. It held the thermometer securely, was easy to apply, kept the entire device low-profile, and our baby didn't seem particularly bothered when we removed it.
You can purchase genetic Yhovid adhesive film here that's perfectly sized for the sensor.
The supplied Momcozy adhesive rings cost about $10 for a replacement pack of 15, so having inexpensive alternative attachment options is a real advantage.
Temperature Accuracy Testing
Of course, convenience isn't particularly useful if the readings aren't reliable.
We compared the Momcozy against two separate infrared forehead thermometers that we regularly use at home.
The first measured 98.2°F.
The second independently measured the same 98.2°F.
At the same time, the Momcozy was within approximately one-tenth of a degree Fahrenheit of those readings. Across our use, we found it remarkably consistent.
That's reassuring, but there is an important limitation to our test. We compared the Momcozy with forehead infrared thermometers because that's what we normally use for convenient home temperature checks. We did not compare it with a rectal temperature, which is generally considered a more direct estimate of core temperature in infants.
The Momcozy measures temperature at the axilla, or armpit, and forehead and axillary measurements can both differ from core body temperature. Therefore, our testing demonstrates excellent agreement with our usual home thermometers, rather than proving absolute core-temperature accuracy.
Momcozy App & Continuous Monitoring
The app might actually be our favorite part of the entire system.
Installation was simple using the Momcozy app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
During setup, you can create your baby's profile with their name, birthdate, sex, and whether they were born prematurely.
The app isn't limited to the thermometer. It also contains baby-care and postpartum information, care logs for feeding, pumping and sleep, and support for several other Momcozy smart products.
Under the Device tab, the app automatically detected our nearby T31.
Pairing only took a moment.
Once connected, the app continuously displays the current temperature and how long the monitoring session has been active.
This is where the system becomes genuinely useful. Instead of getting isolated temperature measurements every hour or two, you can see exactly how temperature changes over time.
The notification options are also excellent. You can enable push and sound alerts, change alert frequency, customize the high-temperature threshold, and optionally enable a low-temperature alert.
We particularly like the low-temperature option because an unexpectedly low reading can also help alert you that the sensor has fallen off and is measuring room temperature instead of skin temperature.
The History screen plots temperature over time and calculates average temperature for the monitoring period.
We think this is much more useful than simply collecting individual measurements. You can see whether temperature is stable, rising, peaking, or declining.
Another excellent feature is the ability to add events directly to the timeline.
For example, we entered "fussy" as a symptom and "Tylenol" as a medication. The app remembers previously entered items, making repeated logging much easier.
Being able to place symptoms, feedings, medications, and other events alongside the temperature history can make the timeline much more informative when caring for a sick baby.
Bluetooth Range & Background Monitoring
The T31 communicates directly with your phone using Bluetooth. Momcozy specifies a maximum transmission distance of approximately 10 meters, or 33 feet, in an unobstructed space.
Our real-world experience was consistent with that specification. At around 30 feet with one wall between us and the baby, connectivity was generally fine.
For a baby sleeping in a bassinet in your bedroom, range shouldn't be an issue. An adjacent nursery should generally be fine as well. Once you start moving farther away and adding multiple walls or floors, however, direct Bluetooth becomes less dependable.
Momcozy offers the optional CozyLink accessory for families needing longer-range monitoring, which we recommend.
The app also includes a particularly useful feature called Background Guardian.
Enabling Background Guardian helps maintain the thermometer connection and real-time monitoring even when the Momcozy app isn't actively displayed on your phone. The trade-off is increased battery consumption, particularly on your phone.
For overnight fever monitoring, however, we think that's a worthwhile option.
Battery & Maintenance
The T31 uses a standard CR2025 coin-cell battery rather than a proprietary rechargeable battery.
Momcozy rates battery life at approximately 180 hours, which is excellent for a device designed primarily for intermittent use during illness.
Replacing the battery is a little unusual at first.
The easiest technique we found was to leave the thermometer sitting in its storage case. The case holds the bottom half in place while you use your thumbs to rotate the upper portion counter-clockwise.
Ours was fairly difficult to loosen, but that's probably a good thing considering that opening the enclosure exposes a coin-cell battery, which is a serious choking and ingestion hazard for children.
Once we got it open, battery replacement took about 30 seconds. Easy peasy!
Consumer Sentiment
Consumer feedback we found was generally very positive, with parents most frequently praising the ability to monitor a baby's temperature overnight without repeatedly waking them.
Other commonly mentioned positives include the small size, comfort, easy app setup, temperature history, and peace of mind provided by continuous monitoring.
The complaints we encountered closely matched our own experience: some users mention limited direct Bluetooth range, and others report that the adhesive system could be easier to use or can occasionally irritate sensitive skin.
We also found relatively little organic discussion of this specific model on Reddit compared with more established baby products. That's not especially surprising because the T31 is still a relatively new product.
What Could Be Improved
We found two meaningful limitations.
First, the supplied adhesive rings are unnecessarily finicky. Once we figured out the right peeling technique they worked well, but ruining three of our first rings wasn't ideal, especially when only 15 are included.
The adhesive is extremely thin and flexible, and it tends to remain attached to the blue backing while being peeled away. Larger fingers and short fingernails certainly don't make the process any easier.
We would love to see Momcozy redesign these with a slightly more rigid adhesive layer or easier-release backing.
Fortunately, this isn't a fatal flaw because ordinary medical adhesive tape is explicitly permitted in the instructions, and both Micropore tape and Tegaderm worked very well for us.
Second, Bluetooth has predictable range limitations. Same-room and nearby-room monitoring worked well, but families wanting to monitor from across a large house, another floor, or through several walls should consider the CozyLink range extender.
Neither issue significantly changed our positive impression of the thermometer.
Our Conclusions
Who This Thermometer Is Best For
- Parents wanting continuous overnight temperature monitoring
- Families who don't want to repeatedly wake a sick baby for temperature checks
- Parents who appreciate temperature trends instead of isolated readings
- Families who value customizable fever alerts
- Parents wanting symptom and medication logging in the same app
- Families already using other Momcozy smart products
- Parents comfortable using medical tape or Tegaderm as an alternative attachment method
Who Should Probably Skip It
- Parents who only need occasional spot temperature measurements
- Anyone wanting a thermometer with its own built-in display
- Families unwilling to use an app or Bluetooth connection
- Anyone needing long-range whole-house monitoring without purchasing CozyLink
Overall, we were very impressed with the Momcozy Wearable Digital Thermometer.
Its biggest strength is simple: it lets you continuously monitor your baby's temperature without continuously bothering your baby.
The tiny sensor was comfortable and unobtrusive, readings were remarkably consistent with both of our infrared forehead thermometers, and the Momcozy app is one of the better smart-baby-device apps we've used.
We especially loved the live temperature display, historical trend graph, customizable alerts, Background Guardian mode, and ability to log symptoms and medication alongside temperature changes.
The included adhesive rings are the one aspect that feels less polished. They work once you master the technique, but they're considerably more frustrating than they need to be. Fortunately, the ability to use conventional medical tape or Tegaderm largely solves that problem.
Direct Bluetooth range is also limited to roughly the same-room or nearby-room distances we would expect from a wearable Bluetooth sensor, so consider adding CozyLink if you need whole-house coverage.
Those relatively minor drawbacks aside, the combination of reliable readings, continuous monitoring, comfort, excellent battery life, and a genuinely useful app makes the Momcozy T31 a compelling option for monitoring a sick baby or child.
We think Momcozy got most of the important things right.
