Full disclosure: Grownsy was generous enough to give us a sample LullSway Baby Swing for testing. We do not believe, however, that this biased our review.
The Grownsy LullSway enters a crowded market of modern electric baby swings, but distinguishes itself with a rick feature seat at a surprisingly reasonable price.
Is it worthy of a spot among the best baby swings? Let's find out!
Important note: This review covers the new Grownsy LullSway dual-motion baby swing. It does not apply to older Grownsy swings (like the BSC01) that have different frames, controls, motion patterns, timers, and specifications.
Grownsy LullSway Baby Swing Review
Based on our hands-on review, we give the Grownsy LullSway Baby Swing an excellent 4.7 out of 5 stars.
Overall Impressions
Most parents don't have time to read through this entire article, so here's the quick version.
We think the Grownsy LullSway has a tremendous amount going for it:
✔️ Gentle side-to-side motion.
✔️ Gentle front-to-back motion.
✔️ Five sway speeds.
✔️ Extremely smooth movement.
✔️ Whisper-quiet operation.
✔️ Smart sensing mode.
✔️ Built-in melodies.
✔️ Bluetooth audio.
✔️ Intuitive remote control.
✔️ Touchscreen control panel.
✔️ Clear status display.
✔️ Elevated seat position.
✔️ Higher vantage point.
✔️ Seat rotates 90 degrees.
✔️ Two recline settings.
✔️ Supportive infant padding.
✔️ Reversible seat cushion.
✔️ Breathable seat materials.
✔️ Machine-washable seat.
✔️ Adjustable harness.
✔️ Easy-to-use buckle.
✔️ Sturdy & stable construction.
✔️ Hanging rattle toy.
✔️ Reasonable price.
❌ Difficult assembly steps.
❌ Toy hangs too high for some babies.
Overall, we think the Grownsy LullSway is one of the more impressive modern baby swings we have tested.
Its biggest strengths are the smooth and silent motion, comfortable and breathable seating, elevated design, excellent controls, and ability to switch between side-to-side swaying and front-to-back swinging.
Our five-month-old test baby was happy and comfortable in the seat, including when the motor was turned off.
The most significant drawback is assembly. Most of the process is easy, but joining the oval seat frame to its support structure and stretching the fabric cover into place took more strength and patience than expected.
Once assembled, however, that tight construction contributes to the swing's excellent stability and sturdy feel.
About Grownsy
Grownsy produces a broad range of baby-care products, including bottle warmers, bottle washers, baby food makers, baby monitors, and other nursery essentials.
The company generally focuses on modern, technology-forward products that combine multiple convenience features at relatively approachable prices.
The LullSway follows that same philosophy: a rich and smart feature set at a reasonable price around $150.
Given its feature set, build quality, quietness, and versatility, we think the price is very reasonable.
Hands-on Review of the Grownsy LullSway Baby Swing
The Grownsy LullSway arrived in a large but reasonably manageable box.
The packaging identifies several of its core selling points, including soft fabric, an ergonomic design, soothing motion, built-in music, an age range of approximately birth to nine months, and a maximum weight recommendation under 20 pounds.
Opening the box reveals quite a few individual pieces, but they are logically organized and most are easy to identify.
The main components include the fabric seat, two lower leg arches, the motor arm and touchscreen control panel, the seat support arch, the oval seat perimeter frame, the overhead toy arm, the hanging rattle toy, the remote control, the power cord and adapter, assembly hardware, tools, and the user manual.
Although the number of pieces can initially look intimidating, most of the swing comes together intuitively.
The lower arches create a wide and stable base, while the central motor column supports the seat at a noticeably higher position than most compact electric swings.
Once fully assembled, the LullSway looked modern, sturdy, and well-proportioned.
We especially liked that it did not look or feel top-heavy, despite the elevated seat.

Assembly
Assembly was a mixture of very easy steps and one surprisingly difficult stage.
The basic frame assembly was straightforward.
First, the lower support arches attach to the central motor arm and control panel assembly.
The opposite sides of the lower arches then connect to complete the base.
Next, the curved seat support arch attaches above the motor, and the toy arm connects to the seat structure. Here's what those connection points look like:
These portions of the process were relatively easy and did not require any unusual tools or advanced mechanical skills.
The included hardware and tools were sufficient, the major pieces aligned correctly, and the assembled base immediately felt stable.
The difficult step was attaching the oval seat perimeter ring to the seat support frame.
A long bolt needs to pass through the components on each end, but the frame must be flexed inward with substantial force to align the holes.
Here's an example of one of the connection points:
This took some serious elbow grease.
We strongly suggest recruiting someone with strong hands and arms to help with this part of the assembly.
The positive side is that once the frame is connected, the fit is extremely tight and secure.
There was no looseness, rattling, or concerning movement in the completed seat structure.
The second difficult task was stretching the fabric seat over the oval perimeter frame.
The cover fits very tightly and needs to be carefully stretched around the frame before the Velcro sections can be secured underneath. This takes patience and a fair amount of hand strength.
One important detail is that the upper end of the fabric seat has a slot that the toy bar should pass through during assembly.
This becomes obvious once you examine the parts, but it was not clearly explained in the user manual.
We recommend locating that slot and positioning the toy bar correctly before fully stretching and fastening the fabric.
Otherwise, you may need to undo part of the cover and repeat the process.
Once the seat cover is installed, the completed seat looks excellent and feels very secure.
Our overall assembly impression was that most steps were easy, but the seat frame and fabric installation could be better explained in the manual.
Clearer diagrams and one or two additional written instructions would make a substantial difference.
Important First-Use Tip: Unlock the Frame
Before turning the LullSway on for the first time, be sure to unlock the movement mechanism.
There is a small locking tab located on the lower inside portion of the frame.
Pull the tab outward to release the seat and allow the motorized sway mechanism to move freely.
If the swing is powered on while the frame remains locked, the seat will not move normally.
This could easily be mistaken for a motor problem or assembly mistake, so checking the lock should be your first troubleshooting step.
The lock is also useful when you want to keep the seat stationary or move the swing without the seat swaying back and forth.
Build Quality & Stability
Once assembled, the LullSway makes an excellent first impression.
The base is broad, the central support feels substantial, and the connections between the frame components are tight.
We pushed gently against the frame from several directions and did not notice any excessive wobbling, flexing, or tendency to tip.
Of course, no baby product should be deliberately pushed, climbed on, or placed on an uneven surface, but the LullSway felt reassuringly stable during normal use.
The quality also came through in smaller details.
The seat rotation mechanism locked securely, the recline adjustment felt positive, the control panel responded consistently, and the motor did not produce grinding, clicking, or rattling sounds.
The completed swing feels more substantial than many lightweight pedestal-style models.
It also looks relatively refined in a modern living room or nursery, without the large exposed metal frame associated with some traditional full-size swings.
Despite the elevated seat, the LullSway maintained a low and wide center of support.
We never felt as though the seat position compromised the overall stability of the swing.
Seat Comfort & Breathability
Comfort was one of the strongest parts of our testing.
The seat includes a soft infant head pillow, supportive torso padding, padded shoulder straps, and a gently contoured shape.
The padding felt soft without being excessively thick or restrictive.
Our five-month-old test baby settled comfortably into the seat and appeared well supported around his head, shoulders, and torso.
One of our favorite features is the reversible seat cushion:
One side uses a breathable fabric that is well-suited to warm weather and indoor spaces that tend to get hot.
Flip the cushion over, and the reverse side has a softer, cozier texture that feels much more appropriate for cool weather or winter use.
That makes the seat more versatile across seasons without requiring parents to purchase an additional insert.
The seat fabric is also machine washable, which is essential for a product that will inevitably encounter spit-up, drool, milk, and occasional diaper leaks.
Always follow the care label instructions and allow the cover to dry completely before reinstalling it.
In addition to the breathable cushion, the sides of the seat include large mesh ventilation panels:
The mesh allows air to circulate around the baby's back and sides.
That should be especially helpful during warm months, when padded baby gear can otherwise trap heat and lead to a sweaty back.
The mesh also gives the swing a lighter and less enclosed appearance.
Our test baby seemed comfortable during extended awake periods and did not become noticeably warm or sweaty.
As with any swing, parents should still monitor the baby's temperature and clothing, particularly in warm rooms.
Overall, the LullSway's combination of supportive padding, reversible seasonal fabrics, ventilation panels, and machine-washable materials is very well executed.
Sway Motion & Quietness
The quality of the motion is probably the LullSway's biggest strength.
The seat moves in a slow, smooth, and soothing arc without abrupt starts, jerky direction changes, or mechanical hesitation.
There are five motion intensity settings, ranging from a very gentle level one to a noticeably broader and faster level five.
Level one produced a subtle sway that should work well for younger or motion-sensitive babies.
Levels two and three were still gentle but provided a more noticeable rocking rhythm.
Levels four and five created a wider and more energetic movement without feeling rough or uncontrolled.
Our five-month-old test baby appeared especially comfortable around the middle settings.
The movement was relaxing enough that he often sat calmly and watched what was happening around the room.
He also enjoyed sitting in the LullSway when the motor was turned off, which speaks to the comfort and positioning of the seat itself.
The motor was exceptionally quiet.
We did not hear clicking, grinding, pulsing, or a constant electric hum: the swing was basically silent.
That quiet operation is particularly useful when the swing is placed in a living room, home office, or shared family space.
It allows parents to talk, work, watch television, or listen to music without competing against motor noise.
It also means the built-in melodies or Bluetooth audio remain clear rather than being masked by mechanical sounds.
We have tested baby swings that make a repetitive click at each change in direction or develop a faint squeak under load.
The LullSway did neither during our testing.
Long-term motor durability will take additional time to assess, but our initial impressions were excellent.
Elevated Seat Design
The LullSway's elevated seat is more than a visual design choice.
It offers two meaningful practical advantages.
First, the higher seat makes it easier for adults to place the baby into the swing and lift the baby back out.
Second, the elevated position gives the baby a better vantage point.
Rather than sitting close to floor level and looking mainly at furniture legs, the baby is positioned closer to the normal activity happening in the room.
The elevated position also makes it easier for a parent sitting on a sofa or chair to make eye contact and interact with the baby.
Despite the higher seat, we did not notice any compromise in stability; the wide base and sturdy central support kept the swing feeling planted and secure.
Seat Rotation & Recline
The seat rotation feature is one of the LullSway's most useful design elements.
In its normal forward-facing position, the motor moves the seat from side to side.
You can then rotate the seat 90 degrees to either side, changing the same movement into a front-to-back swing.
This gives parents two distinct motion styles without requiring a more complicated multi-axis motor.
It also allows you to change the direction the baby faces without picking up and repositioning the entire swing.
For example, you can turn the seat toward a nearby sofa, kitchen, desk, or play area while leaving the base exactly where it is.
The seat locks securely into its forward-facing and side-facing positions.
The locking mechanism is located near the seat support and is easy to operate once you know where it is:
Always confirm that the seat has clicked securely into its intended position before placing the baby inside or activating the swing.
The LullSway also includes two seat recline settings.
Moving between them changes the seat angle by approximately 15 degrees.
The more upright position gives older or more alert babies a clearer view of the room.
The more reclined position provides additional support for younger babies or babies who want to relax.
Remember that the LullSway is an inclined infant seat, not a safe sleep surface.
If a baby falls asleep in the swing, move the baby to a firm, flat, approved sleep surface as soon as you can.
Controls, Remote & Smart Mode
The LullSway can be controlled through either the touchscreen panel on the base or the included remote control.
We appreciate this redundancy.
Remotes have a tendency to disappear into couch cushions.
Having a complete set of controls built directly into the swing means you are never dependent on the remote.
The touchscreen panel is located on the lower front of the base, here's what it looks like:
The panel was responsive during our testing and did not require hard presses or repeated tapping.
Its display shows the active settings, modes, and timer status, making it easier to confirm what the swing is doing.
The remote control is compact, intuitive, and easy to learn:
Using the remote, you can:
- Turn the swing on and off.
- Increase or decrease the sway intensity.
- Activate the movement-sensing smart mode.
- Turn the music on or off.
- Switch between built-in audio and Bluetooth playback.
- Increase or decrease the volume.
- Play or pause the audio.
- Skip between built-in tracks.
- Set a countdown timer for automatic shutoff.
The remote had a decent operating range in our testing and worked reliably from across a normal living room.
The smart movement-sensing mode was particularly impressive.
When activated, the swing monitors the baby for movement.
If it detects activity, it automatically starts the sway at level three and activates music.
In our testing, the sensor reliably detected our baby's movement and responded as expected.
Of course, movement sensing is a convenience feature, not a substitute for supervision.
Parents should remain nearby and attentive whenever a baby is using the swing.
We also appreciated the countdown timer.
This allows the swing to operate for a selected period and then shut itself off automatically.
Timers are useful for preventing the swing from running indefinitely and encouraging parents to use it for limited soothing or awake-time sessions.
Music & Bluetooth
The LullSway offers both built-in audio and Bluetooth connectivity.
The built-in music is convenient when you want soothing sound without pairing a phone or another device.
You can play or pause the music, adjust the volume, and skip through the available tracks using either the remote or touchscreen panel.
Bluetooth adds much more flexibility, allowing you to connect a compatible phone or tablet and play whatever audio your baby prefers.
Adjustable volume is a plus.
Hanging Rattle Toy
The LullSway includes a cute hanging toy with a soft rainbow and a plastic rattle.
The toy adds visual interest and gives the baby something to watch as the seat moves.
Our only issue is that the included toy hangs relatively high above the seat.
Our five-month-old test baby could see it but was unable to reach it reliably.
This may be especially noticeable with younger babies or babies with shorter arms.
Harness & Safety
The LullSway uses a five-point harness with shoulder straps, waist straps, and a crotch strap.
The buckle was intuitive and easy to use.
The components clicked together securely, and the central release button was easy for an adult to operate. The padded cover keeps it hidden from the baby.
Always use the complete harness, even if the baby is calm, the swing is turned off, or you plan to use the seat for only a minute.
Babies can shift, arch, lean, or attempt to sit forward unexpectedly.
The straps should be adjusted snugly enough to secure the baby without pinching or restricting normal breathing.
Before every use, confirm that:
- The frame is fully assembled and all hardware is secure.
- The seat is locked into its intended rotational position.
- The movement lock has been released if you plan to activate the motor.
- The swing is placed directly on a level floor.
- The five-point harness is fastened and properly adjusted.
- No blankets, pillows, positioners, or aftermarket inserts have been added.
- The baby remains within the recommended age, weight, and developmental limits.
- An attentive adult remains nearby.
Grownsy recommends the LullSway for babies from birth to approximately nine months and under 20 pounds.
Those numbers should be treated as maximum guidelines rather than a guarantee that every baby can use the swing until nine months.
Stop using the swing earlier if your baby can sit independently, pulls forward forcefully, attempts to climb out, or otherwise exceeds the product's developmental limits.
The LullSway is intended for supervised awake time and soothing.
It is not a crib, bassinet, or safe sleep surface.
If your baby falls asleep in the swing, transfer the baby to a firm, flat, approved sleep surface on their back as soon as practical.

Small Annoyances
No baby swing is perfect, and the Grownsy LullSway has a few drawbacks worth mentioning.
First, the trickiest part of assembly requires more physical strength than we expected.
Attaching the oval seat ring to the support frame involves flexing the parts together while inserting a long bolt on each side.
This is difficult to do alone, especially if you have limited grip strength or are recovering from childbirth.
Second, stretching the fabric cover around the oval seat perimeter frame is also challenging.
The fabric fits tightly, which is ultimately good for creating a secure and polished seat, but it takes patience to position and fasten all the Velcro.
The manual could do a much better job of explaining this process.
In particular, it does not clearly mention that the toy bar should pass through the small slot at the upper end of the fabric seat during assembly.
That detail becomes apparent when you examine the parts, but clearer instructions would prevent unnecessary backtracking.
Third, the included hanging toy sits a little too high.
Our five-month-old test baby could see it but could not comfortably reach it.
Fourth, the LullSway needs to be plugged into an outlet.
The corded design provides consistent motor performance, but it limits where the swing can be placed and creates another cord that must be routed away from children and walking paths.
Finally, the under-20-pound maximum means the LullSway may have a relatively short period of use for larger babies.
This is common in the baby swing category, but it is still worth considering when comparing the price against products that can be used through later developmental stages.
None of these issues changed our overall positive impression.
The assembly frustration occurs only once, the toy height is easy to work around, and the remaining limitations are typical of powered infant swings.
Overall Conclusions
The Grownsy LullSway Baby Swing is an excellent modern infant swing that combines smooth dual-direction motion, a nearly silent motor, strong comfort, and useful smart features.
We especially loved the five well-differentiated sway levels, 90-degree seat rotation, elevated seat height, and two recline settings. The higher seat made transfers easier on the back and gave our five-month-old test baby a better view of the room.
The seat was comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with supportive padding, breathable mesh, machine-washable fabric, and a reversible cushion with cool summer and cozy winter surfaces. Our test baby appeared happy and comfortable, even when the swing was not moving.
The movement-sensing mode worked reliably, while the intuitive remote, responsive touchscreen, built-in music, and Bluetooth connectivity made the swing easy and convenient to use.
Build quality was also impressive, with a broad, stable base and a sturdy elevated frame. Our main complaint was assembly: connecting the oval seat frame and stretching the fabric into place required considerable strength, and the manual could better explain how to route the toy bar through the seat-cover slot. We also wish the included toy would hang slightly lower.
Overall, the LullSway offers an impressive combination of comfort, quiet operation, smart controls, and versatile motion for about $150, making it an excellent value compared with many premium multi-motion swings.
