We tested the newest (late 2026) Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced baby formula dispenser with several different baby formulas, evaluating it across multiple dispensing trials and measuring temperature, preparation speed, noise levels, funnel buildup, and normal everyday use.

The Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced arrived nicely packaged and largely ready to go.

Our first impression was excellent. It looks modern, feels well-made, and takes up surprisingly little counter space for something that holds both a large water reservoir and a substantial amount of formula.

The basic design is pretty easy to understand: formula powder goes into the large container on top, water goes into the removable reservoir at the rear, and bottles sit underneath the removable mixing funnel.

Setup & Formula Settings

Setup is easy, but there is one extremely important step: you need to look up the correct powder setting for your exact formula and machine.

Baby Brezza's online settings tool asks for your email address, the lot number printed on the bottom of the Formula Pro Advanced, and information about your formula, including its barcode. The resulting number tells the machine how much powder to dispense.

Pro-tip: You'll want to check that lot number before adding water or formula powder to the system, otherwise you'll risk a spill when you flip it upside-down.

On the Baby Brezza website, you'll enter that lot number along with information about your formula (the bar code numbers).

Do not simply copy our setting. Formula settings can vary by formula and machine lot, and Baby Brezza updates them over time. Always check the current setting for your own machine and formula. 

One nice detail: our Formula Pro Advanced remembered its powder setting even after being turned off and unplugged.

We fit approximately 21 ounces of formula powder into the upper container after gently settling the powder, and the rear water reservoir holds approximately 50 ounces.

To get the most use out of the system, you'll want to fill it to the MAX line.

This was about a tin-and-a-half of the Little Spoon formula (14.1 ounces per tin), for reference:

The control panel is intuitive, with simple controls for formula setting, bottle size, temperature, and water-only dispensing.

The drip tray can also be moved up or down to accommodate different bottle heights.

We recommend positioning it so the funnel nozzle extends slightly into the bottle opening; leaving too large a gap (i.e., a lower drip tray setting) can cause some splashing during dispensing.

Our Baby Brezza Lab Testing

For our quantitative testing, we focused on a few things parents really care about: powder-to-water dispensing ratio, temperature, preparation speed, and noise.

This was a hands-on spot check of our particular Formula Pro Advanced, not a laboratory validation of every machine or formula.

We used the best organic baby formula of the year (Little Spoon infant formula) for our quantitative dispensing tests and several additional formulas to evaluate general operation, mixing, and funnel buildup.

Here's all the formulas we tested, which included:

Formula Powder Accuracy

This is probably the most interesting test given the controversy surrounding automatic formula dispensers.

We used the commonly recommended plastic-wrap method, which captures the dispensed powder before it mixes with the water.

We used a high-quality digital scale tared to the plastic wrap and performed four 4-ounce trials and four 8-ounce trials.

According to our Little Spoon formula container, the target was 17 grams of powder for 4 ounces of water and 34 grams for 8 ounces.

Here's an example measurement:

The 4-ounce setting dispensed more powder than the nominal target, while the 8-ounce setting averaged slightly below it.

Importantly, we did not see a systematic pattern of under-dispensing powder across both bottle sizes.

We also wanted a real-world comparison, so we prepared the same amounts by hand using the included Little Spoon scoop and following the instructions for level, unpacked scoops.

Two scoops consistently gave us only about 15-16 grams rather than the stated 17 grams, while four scoops typically produced about 30-32 grams rather than 34 grams.

In other words, our hand-scooping wasn't perfect either.

Because the Formula Pro also dispensed slightly more than the selected amount of water, the more useful comparison is the final powder-to-water concentration (ratio).

Little Spoon's target is about 4.25 grams of powder per ounce of water. Our average 4-ounce Brezza trials worked out to about 4.60 g/oz, while the 8-ounce trials averaged about 3.93 g/oz.

Those aren't perfect matches, but the overall magnitude of variation was not dramatically different from what we encountered when scooping by hand.

Our limited testing therefore left us more reassured than concerned, while also reinforcing how important it is to use the correct machine setting and keep the system clean.

We would not interpret this small test as proof that every Formula Pro Advanced, formula brand, or powder setting will perform identically.

Both overly concentrated and overly diluted formula can be problematic, so formula should always be prepared according to manufacturer instructions.

However, it was reassuring to see that our hand-scooped method produced similar variation to the Baby Brezza system.

Water Dispensing Accuracy

We also measured the water dispensed during the same eight trials.

Here's an example of that that looked like:

Our Formula Pro Advanced therefore dispensed water very consistently, although it was consistently (slightly) above the selected amount.

Also remember that the number selected on the machine refers to the amount of water, not the final volume after formula powder has been added.

In our testing, a 4-ounce selection produced about 4.6 ounces of prepared formula, while an 8-ounce selection produced about 9 ounces.

Temperature Testing

The Formula Pro Advanced provides three temperature choices.

We prepared four fully mixed 4-ounce bottles at each setting and measured them immediately after dispensing. Our kitchen was approximately 74°F.

Here's an example of one measurement (98 degrees F) from the body temperature setting:

The middle setting was impressively close to body temperature and very consistent. The warmer setting was similarly consistent at about 105°F.

The surprise was the room-temperature setting, which averaged about 83°F despite our room being 74°F. That's still nowhere near hot, but parents expecting truly room-temperature formula should know that our unit dispensed noticeably warmer water. And yes, we waited until the thermometer icon stopped blinking (i.e., waited until it was at the proper temperature) before preparing the bottles.

Bottle Preparation Speed & Noise

Once the Formula Pro Advanced is at its target temperature, it is extremely fast.

A 4-ounce bottle took about 15 seconds, while an 8-ounce bottle took approximately 25 seconds. Powder and water initially appear to dispense together, followed by water alone to finish the bottle.

There is one important caveat. If the temperature indicator is flashing after you change settings, the water has not yet reached the requested temperature.

Raising the temperature typically took about 30-60 seconds in our testing, while cooling to a lower setting could take approximately 1-3 minutes.

If you leave the machine powered on at your preferred temperature, as many families do, there is usually no temperature-related delay. If you turn it off between feedings, expect to wait roughly a minute for the water to warm before preparing the first bottle.

We also measured operating noise using the Decibel Meter app from approximately three feet away.

Ambient kitchen noise was about 31 dB. Four Formula Pro measurements were 55, 54, 54, and 53 dB, with a maximum observed peak of 55.2 dB.

That's certainly audible in a quiet kitchen, but we didn't find it particularly loud or disruptive. It's about the same as our dishwasher.

Mixing, Clumps & Foam

This was the one everyday performance issue that consistently bothered us.

Across the formulas we tried, bottles tended to have a small amount of unmixed powder settled at the bottom immediately after preparation.

A roughly 20-second shake solved the problem and gave us a completely mixed bottle:

The good news is that foaming was minimal.

Even after automatic preparation, the top of our bottles generally had relatively few bubbles.

What We Loved & What Could Be Better

Here are our main takeaways after testing the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced:

Funnel Cleaning & Maintenance

Baby Brezza recommends cleaning the funnel after every four bottles, and we agree with that recommendation.

We tested funnel buildup using Little Spoon as well as Bobbie Gentle and Enfamil NeuroPro Gentlease, two formulas containing partially hydrolyzed milk proteins (like what you see in the best gentle baby formulas) that tended to be a little stickier.

After four bottles, there was a substantial amount of powder residue inside the funnel regardless of formula. The buildup was somewhat heavier with the two gentle formulas.

Fortunately, cleaning it is easy. Slide the funnel out, separate its two pieces, rinse and wash them thoroughly, dry them completely, and slide the funnel back into place.

One tip: consider removing the drip tray before pulling out a dirty funnel. Some loose powder residue tends to fall downward when the funnel is removed, which can make a small mess on the tray and counter.

Also wipe the powder-dispensing opening immediately above the funnel, near the Baby Brezza logo. Powder tends to accumulate around that opening as well.

A spare funnel isn't essential, but having a second clean and dry funnel available would make the every-four-bottle cleaning routine more convenient. The funnel is not dishwasher friendly.

Monthly Cleaning

The monthly cleaning process is more involved. Baby Brezza recommends hand-washing the removable components, including the water reservoir, powder container and lid, stirring wheel, locking cover with silicone scraper, measuring wheel, and funnel.

We strongly suggest timing this cleaning for when your formula container is already nearly empty. Trying to remove and preserve a large amount of powder before disassembling everything is unnecessarily messy.

Baby Brezza also recommends regular descaling using a vinegar solution. Follow the current user manual for the complete descaling procedure.

One additional tip involves water-only mode. If you have recently prepared formula, clean the funnel first. Otherwise, residual powder sitting in the funnel can end up in what you expected to be a bottle of plain water.

For storage or vacations, you can remove and empty the water tank and then press and hold the water-only button to dispense the remaining water from inside the system.

Specifications & Features

Consumer Sentiment & the Accuracy Controversy

Consumer sentiment toward the Formula Pro Advanced is very positive overall. Major retailers currently show ratings around 4.7 out of 5 stars, with parents repeatedly praising the same thing we loved most: the ability to make a warm bottle almost instantly, especially during overnight feedings.

Those enormous review totals should be interpreted cautiously because many reviews are syndicated between Baby Brezza and retailers, so they don't necessarily represent completely independent pools of customers. Still, the dominant sentiment is clear: families who use formula frequently often describe the Formula Pro Advanced as one of their most-used baby products.

The recurring complaints are also consistent: frequent funnel cleaning, occasional leaks or error messages, and concerns about whether the machine always dispenses the correct powder-to-water ratio.

What About Formula Dispensing Accuracy?

This issue deserves some context.

Consumer Reports raised concerns in 2024 after its testing found that its Formula Pro Advanced dispensed less powder than expected in several trials. Baby Brezza strongly disputed those findings, arguing that formula powder naturally varies and that its own testing across multiple containers, retailers, and samples supports the accuracy of its formula settings.

More recently, a proposed federal class-action lawsuit filed in September 2026 alleges that Baby Brezza formula machines can prepare overly diluted bottles. At the time of this review, those are allegations only; the case has not established that the machines are defective and there has been no finding of liability.

Our own results are useful additional data, but they should also be kept in perspective. With our machine and Little Spoon formula, we did not reproduce a simple pattern of consistently under-dispensing formula. Our 4-ounce trials actually dispensed more powder than the label target, while our 8-ounce trials averaged slightly less.

Hand scooping produced its own variability and consistently came in somewhat below the label's stated gram weight in our testing.

That's why our takeaway is not that the controversy is meaningless, nor that our eight measurements settle the question.

Instead, they reinforce three practical rules: use the correct formula setting, keep powder above the minimum line, and clean the funnel every four bottles. Also, add your email address to the Baby Brezza website when you get your powder setting, and if something changes they'll email you.

An Important Formula-Safety Note

The Formula Pro Advanced warms and mixes formula; it does not sterilize powdered formula. Powdered infant formula itself is not sterile.

Current CDC guidance recommends additional preparation precautions for babies younger than two months, babies born prematurely, and babies with weakened immune systems, including preparing powdered formula with very hot water around 158°F/70°C. The Formula Pro Advanced does not heat formula anywhere near that temperature. Ask your pediatrician for guidance before using the Formula Pro Advanced.

Families with higher-risk infants should follow their pediatrician's guidance and current CDC/FDA recommendations, which may favor ready-to-feed sterile formula or a different preparation method.

Our Conclusions

Is the Baby Brezza Formula Pro Advanced Worth It?

For families preparing formula bottles several times per day, we think the answer is absolutely yes.

The convenience is difficult to overstate. Put a bottle underneath, press a button with one hand, and roughly 20 seconds later you have a warm bottle ready to shake and feed.

During a middle-of-the-night feeding with a hungry baby in your arms, that's a major improvement over measuring water, scooping powder, warming the bottle, and trying to keep track of everything while half asleep.

We also liked the compact design, large formula and water capacities, intuitive controls, adjustable bottle platform, consistent warm temperatures, and surprisingly reasonable sale price.

It isn't completely hands-off. You need to clean the funnel every four bottles, perform more extensive monthly maintenance, verify the correct powder setting for every formula, and in our testing we still needed to shake bottles for about 20 seconds to eliminate small clumps.

Its powder and water measurements also weren't laboratory-perfect. But neither was our hand scooping, and our testing did not reveal the consistent formula under-dosing pattern that concerned us most going into the review.

Overall, the Formula Pro Advanced delivers something no pitcher, bottle warmer, or manual formula scoop can really match: an automatically measured, warm bottle in seconds with one-handed operation.

For formula-feeding families, especially those preparing bottles overnight or making many bottles every day, we think it's genuinely a game-changer.

Our Formula Pro Advanced was reasonably close to the expected powder-to-water ratios, although it wasn't perfect. Four 4-ounce trials averaged 19.25 grams of powder versus a 17-gram target, while four 8-ounce trials averaged 32.25 grams versus a 34-gram target. Water dispensing averaged 4.19 and 8.21 ounces, respectively. Hand scooping also consistently produced somewhat less powder than the formula container's stated gram weight in our testing. How do I find the correct Baby Brezza formula setting?

Does the Baby Brezza completely mix formula?

Not quite in our testing. All of the formulas we tried left at least a small amount of powder or clumping at the bottom of the bottle immediately after dispensing. About 20 seconds of shaking completely mixed the bottles. Foaming was relatively minimal.
